Lifeguard crews questionnn

what all crews are there? (i know east and west, didn't know if the beach had a crew) and how can i obtain the position of beach lifeguard? also do hours differ between crews? i'm just looking to snatch up as many hours as i can. any info is greatly appreciated. i process sunday.. PUMPED!!

Lifeguard crews are East, West, Wave, Beach, and you could could Castaway. But for on point guards you will get a good amount of hours but if you want lots of hours than beach is where you want to go they get upwards of 70-80 early in the season.

They don't normally assign you to a crew till you get there but if you get on beach or Wave you have to get Special Facilitys training which means you need to be a good swimmer and if that interests you than you can ask.

What happens if you don't pass lifeguard training?

They put cement shoes on you and toss you into lake erie. This is guaranteed to be done atleast 3 times a year....especially if you're a first year.

I was being serious lol do you get fired?

I am sure they wouldn't just fire you, but I would imagine that you would be transferred to another department.

ok for those people worried about lifeguard class, please dont be. I will repeat this DO NOT be scared about guard class. If you pay attention and just listien you will pass. It is very hard to fail and the only real way is to be disruptive and not wanna learn

couple years back we had an international girl fail the guard test and they kept her on a shallow water rotation where she'd only do the small kid areas, etc, tops of slides, and ankle deep stuff. The test is easy, the special facilities test ( wave crew and beach) is a bit more difficult because of the open water but its still not hard. Beach gets the most hours and if you aren't on beach and their crew starts getting smaller they may ask the other crew people if they want to go work shifts on beach. By the end of my year on wave we were getting around 70 hours if you wanted it because we were so short on people.

WORK ON THE BEACH BROTHER...i worked there last year..you get plenty of hours "working" and by working i mean sitting in a pool or beach chair starring at girls while getting a tan...aaand plus the beach crew is by far the most relaxed/chill group of lifeguards, way more so than those over achievers in the water park. So if you want Sand, Sun, Bikinis and tan skin..go to the beach crew..trust me brother, you wont be disappointed
