Yeah we are planning on taking hamburgers and hotdogs and breakfast cereals and stuff to save us money on eating at restaurtants. We know it's going to be cramped but we're just going to be happy to be there. lol
Good move, Brit!
You can save a TON of money at LHP by cooking/fixing food for yourself. It'll taste better, too.

I need an indoor pool to hide from the guys learing from the deck at The Breakers :p
Really I just didn't think it would be warm enough by May 12th to enjoy an outdoor pool. Is the hot tub nice size?

MrScott, you sure that pool opens before Memorial Day?
eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!
Ride on, MrScott!
If MrScott is unsure, its ok. Because I am sure.
Randi, the weather has the possiblity of being nice enough for outdoor swimming. But even if its a little chilly out, the pool is heated. And yes the spa is good size. The sign says that it will hold a max of 10 people. But you could get 15 in there with room to spare.
Yes, the outdoor pools are open if the resorts are open, including Lighthouse Point/Camper Village. One of my favorite places to be after a long day in the park. No better place to warm ones oranges...:)

Yeah, I go out and take hourly smoke breaks with my co-workers as well. Too bad most of them have quit recently.
OK, if ya'll are sure the pool will be warm enough I'll stick with trying LHP on opening day. I was really looking forward to steaks on the grill & "baked" potatoes in the microwave. LHP looks like an easier place to throw my pasta salad together for the gathering anyway. Where do you enter the park from LHP? Same as The Breakers?

To enter the park, you have to walk from behind Mean Streak, across the Soak City parking lot, through Challenge Park and into the "Magnum Entrance". It seems like a long way, and after a long day it in the park it FEELS like a long walk, but its really not all that bad. There's a shuttle bus too if you want to wait around for it.
I took a group of 5 teenagers last summer and we stayed in a cottage. It was great except for the futon I slept on did a number on my back far worse than Mean Streak ever has! Other than that, the cottage was great.
They work better if you just leave it as a couch and sleep on it like that. Granted you can only sleep one person on it, but otherwise, its more like a torture device!! :)
Lighthouse point rules!
Cottages are tough near opening day, too much weather, Cabins rule then. In the heat of the summer I think a cottage would be the preferred landing place.
Staying on point is the only way to go, either way.
