Last Weekend of Season

I went to CP on Friday night, 10-13, and the crowd was on the light side. Waits for the Raptor ranged from 5-10 mintues. MF started out with a 15 minute wait, but the lines increased to past the vending machines at about 10 pm. Got on MF 4 times. My buddy went today, 10-14, and called me when he got there at 5 pm to tell me that the park was packed. Cars were parked on the grass. He said he's never seen it this crowded. I'm glad I went last night!

It really was that bad today. I left the park around 2:30. They were still streaming in and they were parking back to the main toll booth.

A friend of mine came home at 9:30 after getting there at 5. It was that crowded. He got his pass for next season and rode witches wheel...thats it. Gemini had a 45 minute wait, Magnum had lines past the restrooms, and MF's line was well past all the que lines...yikes! Glad I went Friday night!

We tried to ride CPLERR and right before departure, they made an announcement that "due to mechanical problems, the train will be delayed for 15 minutes". Everyone was encouraged to wait. About a minute later, the announcement became "everyone off the train", because they didn't know how long the problem would last. This is just one example of how so many things were going wrong that day! I mean when the train ride has problems, things aren't really going your way!

In general, a surly crowd, and one that was quite scary (and I don't mean Halloween-ish scary). It was warm, people were hungry, and lines were outrageous. Bad scene. We left before the parking lot became gridlock.

Yeah I really couldn't believe that they could even fit that many people into the park. MF lines were around or more than 2 1/2 hours all day. The midways were so crowded that it was like walking out of a sporting event, "just moving along with the crowd". And while I thought it would empty out a little at night, it just got larger!

It was crowded Saturday, no question about it, but I think the park handled it extremely well, even with the legions of volunteers working. Rides were cycled quickly, food service was decent, and the live E was better than ever.

Of course, I am glad that I didn't have to drive off point that night... TR to come...
