Laser Light Spectacular

I am a huge fan of the Laser Light Show and since I cannot make it to CP until later in the season I was wondering if anyone saw it yet? Are new songs or effects used?

BritneyCP,

The Laser Light Show has not started yet. The park is not open late enough yet for it. It should start soon as the park operating hours increase this weekend, I do believe.

I think it starts at 10:00pm tonight! Can't wait to see it!

I'm wondering if because of September 11th, the entire show, or perhaps just the finale may be more Patriotic this year (if that's more possible than usual of course)
It does start today and runs through August 24. I'll have to check it out when I visit on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I thought Memorial Day this year would be more patriotic, but apparently not too much except for the traveling semi-trailer that had the Air Force stuff in it!

I love the laser show.... I hope they have the cartoon cannibals in it this year.... love those guys....

do..do...do...do...do.....do.......

Last year I never actually stopped and watched the show just caught parts of it while passing by so I can't really compare, but I did watch it tonight and It had a lot of patriotism. They had a part where they showed the NYPD and FDNY logos along with a red white and blue ribbon.

I also noticed they removed the part with the OSU and Michigan fight songs. :(

The beginning is revamped a little and they play a bunch of different new songs. It still ends with "God Bless the USA."

Also, at the very end (if you wait around long enough) you might see yourself on the big screen. They now have a camera up there that can pan around and zoom.

Yea, I got on the camera last night (on my way to MF ERT :))

This years is neat how they get the crowd involved. Only about 25% of the show is the same from last year. For some reason I liked last years better though. Maybe I'll just have to see it more, which I will.

Snoopy was dancing on a platform live...he made an appearance in three different outfits. First was red white and blue, like Uncle Sam...then red Joe Cool shirt and sunglasses...then Gold and Silver outfit. They panned the camera on Snoopy on the platform while he was dancing. He "tried" to get the crowd involved in clapping along with the beat...didn't quite work though.

I never understood why people don't stand for the "God bless the U.S.A." where it says "I'd gladly 'stand up" next to you and defend her still today"

Laser pointers from the audience was a big dissappointment again this year.

I second that last statement, Laura. I was standing with the WildCat crew watching the show and the whole time we were trying to find the people who had them. We didn't find them.

Hopefully people from today on will better behaved!

If you don't come out of there feeling patriotic after watching the show, there's something wrong with you! :)

Saw the show tonight but there must have been technical problems. There were no laser animations, only video. You guys who saw the show earlier, there were laser animations like last year, right?

It's very hard to drink all day...
Unless you start first thing in the morning.

yes...there were laser animations! Oh oh...the bugs again...::laugh::

Was there last night too. Looks like the laser that works on the main screen was broke. I have to give a mega thumbs up to the staff for going on with the show anyways. The person that played snoopy should get a raise. That dog danced the whole show while they set the camera on him. I was hoping to see him at the end of the show but he ran off. I guess dancing for almost 30 minutes straight can wear you out......

Has CP's show always been as light on the fireworks as they were when I watched it (CM night)? Or did there seem to be a lot less of them?

I usually skip the show, but watched that night because the VF spectacular is not returning this year. Very, very sad. While it lacked some of CP's projection systems (lasers only), it more than made up for it in fireworks. 2000 and 2001's shows could have been named "Mindless Explosion Extravaganza". They'd blow up more stuff by song #3 than two of the CP shows I saw combined. And let's not even discuss the finale...usually 2 to 3 minutes of non-stop pyrotechnics. Sweet.

Better yet, our PT is fairly close to the Laser Screen. Tower 3 seats 7-10 were just pure heaven during any given show.

But tell me if CP's used to be that way in the pre- 9/11 world.

I haven't watched it in years because little changed. I did notice this year (while passing it... not watching) that they actually had some new music this time.

As far as fireworks go, it's pretty much the same. I just watched the video I shot last year. It looks close to the same amount. With the removal of the James Brown segment at the end, the ending is pretty much the same as last year. They did add fireworks during the Snoopy's National Anthem at the beginning. Based on a hunch. I'd say they have the same amount of lights and fireworks each year. Just when they are released changes based on the cue's for the computer and changes in songs. They have added video underlay's to the presentation. Other than that the lighting hasn't changed much. I do thing the bright white lights on the crowd may be new....Not sure on that one.

Ok...I'm a LLS junky. What can I say? I can't get enough. I usually don't miss them when I'm there....
