Last year I never actually stopped and watched the show just caught parts of it while passing by so I can't really compare, but I did watch it tonight and It had a lot of patriotism. They had a part where they showed the NYPD and FDNY logos along with a red white and blue ribbon.
I also noticed they removed the part with the OSU and Michigan fight songs. :(
Snoopy was dancing on a platform live...he made an appearance in three different outfits. First was red white and blue, like Uncle Sam...then red Joe Cool shirt and sunglasses...then Gold and Silver outfit. They panned the camera on Snoopy on the platform while he was dancing. He "tried" to get the crowd involved in clapping along with the beat...didn't quite work though.
I never understood why people don't stand for the "God bless the U.S.A." where it says "I'd gladly 'stand up" next to you and defend her still today"
Laser pointers from the audience was a big dissappointment again this year.
I second that last statement, Laura. I was standing with the WildCat crew watching the show and the whole time we were trying to find the people who had them. We didn't find them.
Hopefully people from today on will better behaved!

I usually skip the show, but watched that night because the VF spectacular is not returning this year. Very, very sad. While it lacked some of CP's projection systems (lasers only), it more than made up for it in fireworks. 2000 and 2001's shows could have been named "Mindless Explosion Extravaganza". They'd blow up more stuff by song #3 than two of the CP shows I saw combined. And let's not even discuss the finale...usually 2 to 3 minutes of non-stop pyrotechnics. Sweet.
Better yet, our PT is fairly close to the Laser Screen. Tower 3 seats 7-10 were just pure heaven during any given show.
But tell me if CP's used to be that way in the pre- 9/11 world.
