I'll be visiting GL with friends this Monday and am wondering about ride restrictions similar to Cedar Point. I have a friend that is about 250 pounds with a 42 in. waist, and she's concerned about not being able to fit on certain coasters.
Also, another friend is 6 ft 7 in tall (but quite thin), and he's concerned about leg room...
Any info on rides to avoid or rides that might be ok, please let me know.
Thanks!

Well here is my thought. On Dragster i can pull the belt 1 inch so i just fit, well at GL i had no problem fitting into any of there rides. The park is a fun place to visit so have fun. As for leg room good luck because i didnt pay attention to that.

Thanks for your advice! I hope all goes well, as they're from New York and I would hate for them to have bad experience.

They should be fine on everything except the impulse (Steel Venom or whatever they call S:UE now). Your friends will probably have trouble, the shoudler restraints are made for little people on this one.
Everything else is fair game, except the taller freind will be a little pressed for leg room on Villian, RWB, DL, and especially Big Dipper. I'm around 6'4" and leg room is at a premium on those.

I come from Buffalo, NY and I weigh 240 lbs. with a waiste line of 42" and I didn't have any trouble with getting on or riding any of the coasters and I also had a ball at WWK.

Isn't Steel Venom the only Intamin coaster. That's probably why there's no slack rule there.
i think that it is really stupid that coasters are designed for "little" people when the majority of America is overweight!

420TTD, I agree very much so. I have probs fitting the the trains on MF and sometimes TTD. But since EVERYONE (Park Ops) think that the belts are the same as the test seat. VERY WRONG!! I can pull the inch on the test seat, but when its time to ride man you can pull sh*t. I got 1 ride in last yr on MF and 3 on TTD and I have a 42 inch waiste line. Lady luck was on my side one day when ride op saw me fit into the test seat, then after waiting in line she was on the loading dock. She saw that I could not get buckled in so she did something so i could buckle in, I didn't have that 1/2 inch and I got to ride. They need to go back to the first belts they had before, then CP nor Intamin would get so many complaints. I also think its wrong for females, some female are not as strong to pull that 1/2 inch. I know people on here are tried of me and others venting about this prob that Intamin and CP has but for god sakes when my friend who has a 34 inch waiste line and had trouble buckling in there is something very wrong.

i think that certain venting is needed. Especially in this circumstance. They need to hear guest complaints until they understand that larger people want the same expeiences as the thinner and smaller people. Why should a park, whose main source of income is the guests paying admission, be biased against larger guests?
I am thinner and i always have a hard watching the larger guests struggle to fasten saftey restraints of all types. I the feeling of emabrrasment they must feel when they discover that they are, in fact, too large to ride.

That is why CP should go back, review complaints and do something about it. In some cases they have but ever since that man was killed on Superman (due to Ride Op not doing their job), Intamin has gone to the extreme on safty. Yes I know safty is first and I can live with it. But why keep going to a company that is base rides on smaller people? Arrow is the only company that has not change their seat belts at all. I can fit in any Arrow made coaster, I mean I can even fit in Jr. Gemni. lol But why even say that you are a Family Theme park when you can't even enjoy MF, TTD or any other coaster with your family just because you are alil heavy and can't buckle yourself in?? Maybe just maybe your child has a friend at school that was at CP that day and they confront your child saying, "You have a fat dad/or mom and they can't ride a rollercoaster cuz they are fat!!" How would that make you and your child feel? You know. I honestly don't wanna go there anymore just because of this prob.

I've been practicing "Nearer My God to Thee" on my worlds smallest violin for times like these.
It's a problem only fixable with a time machine. At the end of the day, they are just rides. Move on.
Yeah only someone like you Forgotten would say somthing like that and not understand the words "FAMILY FUN"!!
Family fun in my perspective is more along the lines of shows and mild rides such as the train and sky ride. The thrill rides including Millennium Force are targeted towards teens and young adults rather than families.
It would be more correct to state that I would be the only one to say something like that in the context that I did.
So what if I have 3 teenage boys and a wife in which that is called a family if you didn't know. We all wanted to go on MF or TTD as a family, would that be in your book family fun since we are a family and we are doing something together?? Or say as a family we goto CP or GL together, what is that to you??
See I like to do things with my family, its called family time or family vac. You are right they are just rides, but put yourself into someones shes. Like say you have a son that can ride MF. You want to share that time with him because its his first time on MF or another rollercoaster. So he gets in and buckled. Then he sees you trying to buckle in but can't or sees that you are and can't pull the 1/2 inch. Then you have to leave and you can't share the moment with him. So how would that make him and you feel inside?? And like I said before, what if a schoolmate was there and saw everything, then son goes to school that schoolmate comes up and makes fun of him that his father is alil over weight?? Put yourself in them shoes and think before you write.

Hmmmm....yes smart*ss. I was on a diet last yrs and I went down to a 40 waiste line and on opening day I fit in the test seat BUT NOT ON THE TRAIN!!! Understand that lil one, understand. My friend has a 36 waiste line and HE had trouble getting himself buckled as well.

OK, everyone take a step back.
We've been over this issue for years, Screamomatic. It has nothing to do with diets.

Actually, Jr. Gemini IS an Intamin coaster. Although that's an interesting point that an Intamin kiddie coaster seems to be more accomodating to large people than their adult sized coasters. *** Edited 3/21/2006 7:34:13 PM UTC by Ralph Wiggum***
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
comments like Screamomatic's are just not neccessary.
Being large or overweight or fat or whatever i would think is bad enough, and when you find a place to vent about not being able to join in in "family fun" activities, such as riding rollercoasters. people should not be here to cut you down. It is a very valid point.
SCREAMOMATIC--- i think your views are ludicrous. Why are rides designed for smaller guests when the majority of America statistically are "plus sized"?
