Lake Erie Contamination

I could also imply you're an idiot by stating "gradimitated college", however it is 5pm, and I must leave my office for the day...

I think I'll go for a ride in my boat on the polluted fresh waters (There's a good oxymoron for you folks who "gradimitated college") of Lake St. Clair and look for some of these "Salt water" jelly fish that according to Mr. Cedar Point only live in salt water.

Adios! *** Edited 8/7/2007 9:04:39 PM UTC by Jay McKinney***

I don't want to jump into your disagreement, but I would like to point out that he was simply lightening things up a little bit and making a joke. :/

I'm not happy to hear about any possible contamination though. Whether or not it effects Cedar Point.

Hehe. "I just read somebody say."
Which one is it? :)

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

Cedar Point's beach isn't mentioned, but a few other beaches in the area are shut down. http://www.wtol.com/global/story.asp?s=6913758

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I see DJ beat me to it, but anyone who relies on Wikipedia for any information is an idiot. That site can be edited by anyone at anytime.

Besides the jellyfish thing, anyone else notice the tornado in NYC and the extreme heat we've been having? Must be the day after tommorow...

And as far as the salt thing, salt is sodium chloride, though it contains neither sodium atoms nor chlorine atoms. They are ions which is what most organisms use. Sodium explodes in water and chlorine is a deadly gas. When they combine, rather spectacularly, sodium and chlorine share electrons so they actually change their chemical properties.

So if anyone takes iron supplements or something, you aren't actually getting elemental iron, but iron ions.
