Lake Erie Contamination

I just read somebody say that they were at Cedar Point and there were signs on the beach saying; no swimming, because of contamination. Can anyone confirm this?

I was there Friday and people were in the water and I didn't see any signs like that when I walked down the beach.

Did they let Paris Hilton into the water?

We have a ton of "ecoli" alerts in Detroit area, one would only assume CP is dealing with the same drama.

Lake Michigan has tons of e-coli reports here as well.

Looks like Lake Erie has similar problems.

"medical officer of health"

Does Canada also have the Office of Redundancy Officer too?

And they've been found on Lake Huron (north of LSC) and on Lake Erie (South of LSC) but never on Lake St. Clair? That sounds a bit fishy.

I wonder if you could drop some grapes or berries in the water then drive em up with your boat props to make "Preserves" HAHA ;-)

The Jellyfish can just survive in Salt Waters. Their Body Structure is "MEDUSA", and the salt has sodium. That is why they can only live in the Salt Waters.

Ok, I'll have one of what Mr. Cedar Point is having.... the salt has sodium? I think he means Salt is Sodium Chloride "containing both" NA and CL atoms -

Other than the Mr. Wizard lesson - This is a fresh water version of a invasive species of Jelly Fish, which originated in a river somewhere in Asia -

Just another ballast tank nightmare it appears. *** Edited 8/7/2007 7:45:53 PM UTC by Jay McKinney***

Mr. is correct - salt contains sodium.

Brandon

"Relevancy?"

djDaemon's avatar

None whatsoever, other than you incorrectly pegged Mr. Cedar Point's comment as incorrect, when in fact you are the one who is incorrect. I was merely pointing that out for the sake of accuracy.

Brandon

I would suggest you research things a bit on wikipedia or some other site that provides relevant information.

DJ - I think you got confused somewhere along the way due to the line breaks inserted by the forums.

(Emphasis mine)

I'm not confused.

Mr. said that "salt has sodium", which Jay pointed out as being inaccurate. I never said Jay was incorrect, just that his assertion of Mr. being incorrect was, well, incorrect. Salt has sodium.

I know this, because I gradimitated collige. :)

Yeah, I guess you are right. (Now that I let that reading comprehension set in).

I love the interwebs.

I should note that my response was misleading, and should have read:

...when in fact you are the one who is incorrect in asserting his incorrectness.

I'd also like to point out, for the record, the use of the terms "wikipedia" and "accuracy" in the same sentence. ;)

Brandon

I stated "Salt is Sodium Chloride"....I never said "he is inaccurate" ... I can definately see where you "gradimitated college"

You implied he was inaccurate with the statement:

Ok, I'll have one of what Mr. Cedar Point is having.... the salt has sodium? I think he means Salt is Sodium Chloride "containing both" NA and CL atoms...

Does not the "I'll have whatever [he's] having" comment imply you view the statement as inaccurate?
