Lair of the Vampire/ CarnEvil

I don't know if my friends and I just didn't have the "scare me" look, but I thought CarnEvil kind of sucked on Friday night. We passed through a few times, and walked around for a while inside each time, and I can only remember 1 good scare...most of the monsters we saw were just kind of walking around and not really using the smoke to its full potential.

I also thought the Fright Zone wasn't up to par either, but hopefully it was just an opening night/weekend type of thing and it'll get better as the season goes on.

As for Lair of the Vampire, I thought it was alright, but it was the same layout as TToT with some different theming and new monsters.

As for WWC, I was about as impressed as last year, which wasn't very much. The addition seemed rather pointless, as there weren't even any monsters in the last 150 feet towards the barn. The one thing it did well was the use of plenty of fog, but it contributed more to me running into the various foliage than being startled by a werewolf. It was kind of fun to find a pair of the prop werewolf hands lying on the ground next to a bush...

I was severely disappointed with CarnEvil. The way it was described, I thought it would be like the Fright Zone only with stuff to stop and see. You know, circus freak stuff. Instead it was just a better-lit fright zone that didn't hold the fog as well and had a bunch of empty tents. Not impressed at all.

The Fright Zone was the best I've seen it. I swear they doubled the number of fog machines. Didn't check out Werewolf Canyon (huge line), but the barn looked really, really impressive from the outside.

I totally agree! My Opinion on The Pharoahs Secret - ****/***** I think they did a pretty good job on this. The queue area was poorly decorated, though. I REALLY liked how many of the people working blended with patterns on the walls, so you didnt expect a wall to jump at you...They did a good job keeping people a good distance apart too. <Still, trying to get those dollars for those korny glasses! Thats why I baught a pair! ^^>

In all fairness, "haunted" attractions aren't really that cool once you're older than 14.

...Or, if you have a few girls in your group, and force them to lead the way throught the haunted house. The screamsters seem to scare the hell outta them each time.

That barn looks to be killer at the end of WereWolf Canyon, I just can't wait...

Rogue Kielbasa...Yeah thanks now i know why my guy friends make me go afront of them..and yeah it is pretty funny sometimes when they scare us really good.
I thought CarnEvil was a waste of time. It looked very promising from the outside with the Carnival person daring you to go inside.

I just wanted to throw in some praise for Monsters Rock. I caught it with my friends on the weekend before Halloweekends and it was a great show. The singers all have excellent voices and the band was great. I liked that the musical selections were a little more rockin' than I would have expected from Cedar Point - sometimes they waste perfectly good actors on diluted "family" tunes. Excellent show though, and I hope someone on this board knows those people to pass on the good job!

I'm looking forward to Monsters Rock. The Red Garter shows over the year have been outstanding, day in and day out. While the talent is always top notch, I hope to God they don't do the same songs again this year. Far too many repeats year to year.

Impulse-ive....I know everyone in the show for Monstors Rock and i'll tell them for you and everyone else who loves the show.
Jeff i just read your post and they do some repeats of last years songs for halloweekends...like welcome to the jungle, I'm the only one and a few others but the show is the best it has ever.

i try to knock over vertigo but um i fell over before i could, dang stiff breeze there this weekend

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Liked Lair of the Vampire much better than the Toxic Tunnel of Terror as well.

I'm still hoping to see Werewolf Canyon some day. :P

I really ejoyed both frightzone and carnevil. It has been about 3 years since i have made it to a halloweekend.

And in all seriousness, the best "Haunted House" I have been through is nightmares fear factory in Niagara Falls, Canada.

Little known fact about CarnEvil. CarnEvil is a video game, it's an arcade first person shooter with a light gun. And guess what.... they have one in the sandusky mall! I find this more than just small coincidence. Maybe someone from CP played CarnEvil and thought that would make a good attraction. But yeah, next time you are in the sandusky mall, head to the arcade, and you can go play CarnEvil!
