I sat up last night really wanting to go to CP but had no one to go with and didn't want to go alone. I went up to bed and got a text message from friends saying that they were going and wanted to know if I wanted to join. I sure did. The weather was perfect. We got to the park around 10 and went to Magnum first for a walk on. After that we went to Witches Wheel for a ride. It was very relaxing. We went to Gemini and walked on to the back row on the blue side. Fun as usual. Next we went to Cedar Creek Mine Ride and walked on. Skyhawk had no wait so we rode that next. I still really love that ride regardless of the short cycle. We walked over to Mean Streak after that. I noticed they added a new sign above the entrance. It has the lightning bolt logo and it looks very good. We rode in the back row and had a pretty good ride.
By this time is was about 11:30 and we were hungry. We grabbed some chicken finger baskets near Maverick and sat for a bit. After eating we got in line for Maverick. We waited about an hour for a fun ride. We grabbed a relaxing ride on Wave Swinger after that. We took a walk up the Frontier Trail noticing all of the fog machines that have already been set up. Got me pretty excited for Halloweekend. We took a quick stop in the petting zoo on the way to Millennium Force. We waited 20 minutes for Millennium. We went across to Mantis and waited about 5 minutes. Next we went to Wildcat. First time I've rode it since it's downtime. Fun ride as usual. We headed up to Ocean Motion after that and walked on. I love pirate ship rides, but the cycle was way too short. As soon as you get up to speed you start to slow down. A few weeks ago I rode the ship at Michigan's Adventure and it gets you up to speed and then you swing freely for about 3 swings then it slows you down. I don't get why CP's smaller rides have such short cycles.
After Ocean Motion we went over to Wicked Twister and waited less than 10 minutes for second from the back row. I've finally decided that back is way better than the front. We took a quick stop and bought some Dippin Dots. I tried the birthday cake flavour. Pretty good stuff. I also couldn't help but notice how the guy selling the Dots had a long cocaine snorting pinky nail. Next we went over to Disaster Transport's temporary entrance and waited about 10 minutes to ride. We went over to maXair after that and waited one cycle to ride. After that we crossed the Main Midway and I stopped at the rotating wire game. I like to try it whenever I go by. My BOGO Platinum Pass deal helps too. I came closer than I've ever come before to winning. Some day I'll beat that game. We continued to Raptor. We walked on to the back row. After that we went around to ride Blue Streak. We walked on.
Next we went to Demon Drop and had a fun ride. I hadn't been on it my past few visits. After that we stopped in the park plaza store and looked around. I bought myself a nice Ohio State shot glass. I'm not a football fan at all but I collect shot glasses and the Michigan ones were sold out. After that we rode Skyride back. While riding I was taking the price tag off the shot glass and dropped it. Broke the little handle off. I guess that's what I get for buying an Ohio State one. ;)
After getting off Sky Ride we went to Power Tower and waited once cycle for turbo drop. Fun ride. We went to Corkscrew next and walked on. Now it was finally time for Dragster. The last time I attemped to ride was the TTD ride night on June 17. The two friends I was with had never been on it. We waited about 45 minutes and sat near the back. They loved it. After that we went around and rode Iron Dragon, our 15th coaster of the day. I think today was the first day this season I rode all of the coasters in one day (excluding Jr Gemini and Woodstock Express). We were hungry again so I grabbed some Panda Express and they got hot dogs. They were very jealous of my delicious chinese food when they saw my big plate. We went and took a quick ride on Matterhorn and then Scrambler.
It was about 7 so that meant we had an hour left. We went to Millennium and waited 20 minutes for 2-1. We headed back to Skyhawk and walked on. Our last ride of the night would be Maverick. We waited about half an hour.
All in all an excellent day. I couldn't have asked for better weather and crowds were very managable. Ride crews were working great even with a large amount of Ride Pride. I think I spent more in the park today than any other day this season. Everything I saw being set up for Halloweekends looked great and I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be back at the park Sunday and can't wait!
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Sounds like you had an excellent day! I would have thought the park would have been really busy considering it was Labor Day.
I do have to ask...what is Ride Pride? I noticed more of those name tags when I was there on the 24th of August.
Ride Prides are typically college students who work a ride at the park for a weekend or two to raise money for an organization that they are a part of (fraternities and sororities typically).

I was at the park for the entire holiday weekend (Fri-Mon). Friday was the slowest day of the weekend, and Sunday was easily the busiest. Monday was more crowded than Friday, but was still a great day at the park. The weather was perfect, although a bit on the warm side at times, and the ERT sessions for the Employee Reunion were the best two ERTs that I have ever been a part of!

^^Yeah, one Ride Pride working TTD was awesome giving me crazy lap bar space that surely would've sent me flying out of the train if I had no seat belt!!
I was even asked once if the bar was too low?! Aside from the impasse of resetting the restraints if I said yes, I've rarely ever been asked that at any park before!?
Some regular op's were clearly eyeballing my loose restraints a few times, but thankfully never re-checked. Needless to say those were some pretty sweet last row rides!
