Has anyone stayed in the cabins/house at the KOA campground in Sandusky? I just rented a 3 bedroom model for CP's opening weekend. They are having a special that weekend.. stay Friday night get Saturday night free. Total cost is $88 after tax for the 2 nights. Can't really beat that!

Wow, that's an awesome deal. I may need to look into that. I enjoy camping there, but that early in May might be a bit cold for tent camping. The cabins I've seen are pretty small, but I think I probably saw the 1 room versions. They looked fairly nice and relatively new too.
Trust me. Don't take a tent on opening weekend. I did it this past year and it got down to the 30's at night. Those were some COLD shower houses in the morning. Never again, haha.

The cabins aren't bad, stayed there for every trip the last couple years.
The 3 bedroom is basically a 2 bedroom with the second room split into bunks. 1 side has top bunk, 1 has a bottom bunk. The kitchen is small, but has stove, full fridge and oven unlike the ones at LHP.
The only issue with the cabins is that they are backed right up to the train tracks. If you're a light sleeper, it could cause problems, but if you're a rock (like me) it won't matter.
At 88 bucks for 2 nights, you're not going to find a better deal that is right around the corner from the park.

I reserved my cabin yesterday. $88 for two nights really can't be beat. Thanks for the heads up Andrew!

I have also stayed at Bayshore/KOA for the majority of my trips over the past few years. They are a great value, and the amenities are decent. If you are picky about your bedding, you may want to bring your own sheets and blankets. In addition, the mattresses aren't the most comfortable in the world, but it is well worth the price. In addition, with the cabins you get a large kitchen, a (small) cable TV, futon, free wifi, etc...
Still finalizing what my opening weekend plans will be (if any). With this being my first season in several years not getting a season pass of any sort, I need to be more picky about my visits. If I do go, I will definitely be taking advantage of this offer.

Is this the KOA/price sheet you guys are all talking about, and is "Park Cabin" the one to go with, for, say a husband, wife and two nephews?

It looks like the price slowly climbs from $51 to $100 throughout the Cedar Point season.
