Yeah, just the apartments have kitchens. But they do have some dirty microwaves in the lobbies of the dorms you can use.

I thought The Cedars was supposed to be condemned years ago... The building is older than Hotel Breakers isn't it?

The Amazement Park

yes - it is what's left of the first major hotel that was built on point I believe....

Actually Breakers is older. Although much of the original hotel is non-existent, except for the rotunda and for however long the Bon Aire section survives. Cedars was built in 1915, (Unless you count it as part of the whitehouse, I don't.) a year after the chaussee opened. More about the Cedars and CP history can be found on their website.

well all i know is that cedars is real old and need to be demolished and rebuilt or renovated if we employees are going to be staying there. and didn't everybody have to move out of cedars at the end and move to commons?

2004 Half-Court Hoops

yeah - that happens every year - it's cuz it gets too cold in the building when the temperature starts dropping since there's no climate control...

I wish they would update all their buildings. The return of investment: happier employees.

when has CP EVER cared for their employees??

Just a few things when having an apt with an stove top (Commons or Bayside) or an apt with an oven (Bayside): make sure your roomate doesn't put a plastic plate on a hot burner; or put a pizza in the oven with the plastic and cardboard still wrap/on it. It's never a good thing.. Watch out for those blinders too..hehe

okay so the commons apts dont have an oven? they only have a stovetop? what the hell.. that's horrible.

Yea. I had the wonderful experience of living in Commons apartments for a week, the WORST week i had living at CP, and there were only 4 other people in the apartment at the time too ! I personally prefer Bayside apartments, although they're hot sometimes in the summer, i find them the best place to live.

I see why you got the banhammer Marco. CF is like any other major corporation who values an acceptable ROI. Keeping employees happy reduces turnover and cost.

The summer of 1980 saw weekly dances, occasional ride nights and several employee appreciation dinners. In addition we had a Rec Center that served 3.2% Beer for 2 dollars a pitcher and had a credible snack bar. Volley ball tourneys and just plain fun.

Sure we made jokes about the "Abusement Park" but it was all in fun.

All in all CP was a wonderful work experience. Just follow the rules to a T. There were alot less of them in 1980. So sad to see you and your homo-phobe posts go Marco.....

Of course it was hot, dirty and sometimes frustrating work. It is a dirty little secret that food service is the most fun!

Oh yea, I forgot about the band nights we had on the beach a couple of times. Really fun stuff. 50 cent cans of beer and lots of w%%d being passed around.

Sorry upper management I am long gone and can talk freely about all the dope that everyone smoked including the silver tags smoked that summer.

But that was not the major reason for the fun. It is the freinds you make, some for life, some for a summer and some you will never forget. Mike Hastzo you are still a nut case!!!! lol

I believe I remember hearing something about Cedars being a historical landmark or somesuch, but I could be wrong.

IF that was true, then I dont CP can legally do more than restore it, right?
