I'm tending to beleive it was ride program malfunction. I recall reading about issues with the transfer track motor over heating and shutting it down. A good theory in my opinion would be that causing it to E-Stop and some malfuntion allowed the fins to pop up but the catch care/train kept going and tore up the fins.
Kyle, I haven't thought about such a theory before but I am starting to see where you may be right. I did read that they were having malfunctions with the transfer track. Perhaps the train did launch, the brake fins popped up, but a mechanical failure caused the cable to continue its pull which, in turn, caused the track to rip through the brake fins at extreme speeds. I think this would definately cause some structural damage to the track, brake fins, and the brake magnets on the trains. Interesting idea to ponder...

Okay, let's flip it. CP can't get their main attraction to run correctly in TTD, destroyed a good wooden coaster in MS, and closed MF to a large group of people.
Right now TTD is running way better than Deja Vu, X, and KK. MS destroyed itself, ran to fast for a woody, pre trims, shook itself apart, and it is Intimin's fault, and SF's, depending on who you talk to, that we have to put up with those damn short seatbelts on MF. SF employees let that guy ride without proper restraint, so now Intimin over reacts and makes CP shorten the belts.

Intamin buddy, it's I-N-T-A-M-I-N
You can't blame Six Flags soley for the shortening of the seatbelts, which, by the way if you haven't read, has changed slightly for MF. It was really the mistake of a few dumb employees coupled with the guy's own idiocy that caused the big overeaction of the seatbelt length.

Obviously...But, up until two days ago, no it wasn't BY FAR.
Good thing you are using bold letters or I might not have ever known how to spell INTAMIN. And, you are only running as good as you are today, thats if you only have one day to spend at the park, thats all you care about, right? Trust me KK will be about as reliable as TTD, just the way it is, difference is that CP has a better maint. staff so TTD will get fixed faster when it breaks. And thank you for agreeing with me about MF's seatbelt issue. SF made the mistake, by not training the employees correctly, and INTAMIN over reacted.
P.S. I am not your buddy, I'm not even sure I like you, LOL, just kidding.
P.S.S. when you quote me don't edit the quote. I said TTD is running better than Deja Vu, X, and KK.

How do you know that CP would be able to run X any better? We don't know considering SFMM is the only park that has one.
Fastball, there is a reason SF has the only X, it is a bad design, and CF knows it.

Oh now come on, you have to give SF's credit for stepping up and trying something new. CF tried that with TTD but SF decided to build one to fast to see how it worked.
Thats my point, CF learned from SF's mistake and didn't build an X type coaster. But SF just HAD to have a coaster like TTD, and didn't learn from what CF allready knows, rocket coasters are a pain in the a--.
Don't get me wrong I still love TTD, just a shame they can't get it to run consistantly, although it has been better lately. Please God let it be running on the 16th, my first trip of the yaer.

X is a great idea and I commend SFMM on trying something new, but it is also plagued with problems. The ride is not working 70% of the time, and when it is working it is soooooooooooooooooooooo slow loading the line takes forever!
TTD is great, but I agree that it would be nice for it to be able to run consistently. I am sick of waiting two hours of brakedowns and only 10 of good ride running time!
Thrills Around the Corner!
They didn't learn because they couldn't learn. They built the ride to fast. X's problems were obvious from the beggining. Rocket coasters had been built and run successfully. TTD wasn't as big of a risk as X was.

Well Fastball if Six Flags didnt have a person fly out of their ride then MF never would of had to have those seatbelt issues.

101 on Magnum and counting...
Anybody who comlains about MS trims needs to realize the fact that without them, the ride would rip itself apart. You can watching it sway and such quite a bit at its current speed. Raging Wolf Bobs (i think) at the old SFWoA had cables anchoring it to the ground to keep the thing together.

Okay? I'll try to do better next time. Sorry if I offended you by not completing the quote or using the elipses (...) to denote I was skipping a part of it.
just checked out the SF website and KK is going to be down tomorrow as well. now this is major because tomorrow is the day that Phizer(sp?) rents out the park once a year for the entire day to its employees and friends. no general public is allowed. i have a couple friends in my tech school class who were suppost to go tomorrow but upon hearing what happened to KK, they are not going. only makes you wonder how many others will not be attending due to this. KK has been one marketing disaster after another. the best was when it was marketed as "eating ALL records". funny, but i recall seeing coasters a lot longer than KK.

Haha ha, ha, yeah, not seeing the funny.
