Hey all,
I'm going to try and make this a very short post but we'll see how it goes!
We started off at Kings Island and for a Saturday the lines were terrific--little to none for the evening. We finally tried the Beast at night, and wow! Definitely something worth trying. Banshee was also amazing and the line was around a 5-10 min wait. I thought it was nice how they incorporated the scream at the top of the lift hill :)
I was REALLY surprised how short the lines were at Cedar Point. This is the third year I've gone, towards the end of the month to avoid the lines, but they've usually stayed within the 15-30 min mark. From Monday through Wednesday, Millennium was basically a walk on--by Tuesday the line stopped right where they get off the trains. It was REALLY humid and there was a rain storm towards the end of the day but it was very quick. I'm glad we got our rides of MF and Maverick before Wednesday because I ended up not feeling too well later on.
I can't find the name of it, but there's a ride towards the entrance of the park which has the racing horses. It has themed music and four horses per row--anyway, it was a really fun ride. I thought it was really cute.
Next year we're aiming to stay (at least one night) on the beach because, when the park closed, it was a totally different atmosphere! Everyone was out by the water but it was still very peaceful, and I'm really looking forward to coming again soon.
Short lines at Kings Island on a Saturday? That's awesome!
I think the ride that you're describing at Cedar Point is the Cedar Downs Racing Derby.
By the way we were there on Wednesday too.
