The straw thing can become an issue; once you have straws, you'll have people comming out of the woodwork asking why these aren't wrapped. Then it goes from there. Then you'll haev the kids paying with spitballs, the 'cool' kids chewing on them.
Ok, so I over hyped. There's always one thing, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. People have gotten by without straws.

Sorry, I'm a bad man. I didn't think about the straws being a threat to the wildlife that is at Cedar Point. I would really hate to see dead seagulls laying on the Midway. The person who has the job of sweeping up the trash would have to sweep them up, too. That would be gross.

Considering Park Service's reaction to us when we had dead seagulls for them to take care of, if a ride called in with a dead seagull that was close to their ride on the midway, they would probably tell the ride crew to take care of it, or just never end up sending anyone over.
*Note* I don't have anything against the seasonal workers in Park Services, as I was friends with quite a few, but the higher ups in Park Services were flat out horrible with not only Blue Streak, but also other locations.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I would have to agree that park services is one of the areas that need improvements. I'm guessing it's one of the harder positions to fill due to the fact that many people just don't care to do that kind of work.
