June 9 (Mini Report)

So what I thought would be a wonderful thing to do for my daughters' 17th birthday, ended up having us leave around 6:00pm. Not because of the weather, Not because of anything at Cedar Point. But apparently a 17 year old daughter doesn't want to spend time with her Dad at Cedar Point anymore, apparently she'd rather be home with her friends---Oh well, I still have my son who will be 15 in August to Ride TTD, MF, and Maverick.

Got there for Joe Cool, 2 rides on Raptor, 1 skyhawk. The line for Maverick was still closed, no one in the queue line yet, around 10am, and the line was only to Mine Ride, which was open, so we went on it, then hit Skyhawk one more time.

Watched Maverick test 1 or 2 trains, before nothing was going on there, and the kids hit Mean Streak, while Mom & Dad Shopped. Headed back to the front of the park, to Hit Disaster Transport, wife's favorite ride. Then ate hot dogs & fries ($40), and went back towards Maverick on the train. Maverick was now running with a 2 hour wait (around noon). My daughter didn't want to wait 2 hours. So we sat there, watching Maverick, for about 20 minutes.

We circled the park about 3 times, and rode very little. The crowds were moderate, wait times for TTD only 3/4 hours, and MF 1 hour. The weather was cool in the shade, and perfect in the sun, with a nice breeze.

We ended the night playing skee-ball, and other arcade games. Got our mini prizes and came home.

That's about it. We could of had a better time, but the wife and daughter really were not in the mood to ride anything.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Sounds like you had a good time despite not riding Maverick. FYI, they tend to grossly overestimate the wait on the sign. I have never waited more than 60 minutes after 8 rides, yet the sign always says 90 minutes or more. The Pepsi machines in the middle of the outdoor queue are at approximately the 60 minute wait point, whereas the entrance sign is about the 90 minute wait point. I'm not sure what the line was like, but I've found the above is a better estimate of wait time than the sign.

The line was just out of the queue, past the sign about 5-10 people. It pretty much stayed at that point the whole 20 minutes we were watching it.

My daughter actually pointed out that about every 30-40 seconds a train entered the tunnel. She must of been really bored.

Skeeball is a great way to win something without spending an arm and a leg. I have got small prizes from it the last 2 trips we have made (06' and 07') and I find it nice to have a small souviner to remember the trip by.

Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless

I was at the park also on June 9 and you couldn't ask for a better day! Weather and the rides were great! We got there at 9:30AM and went to Maverick and found it was down, so we headed to MF. Waited about an hour and then came back to Maverick and it had just opened.

Maverick was great! The effects in the tunnel were awesome and we sat in the very back and got whipped over the first drop - insane! The elements were fun also. Nice and fast ride.
