June 8th versus June 15th

Looking at going one of these weekends. Arriving fairly late on Friday--maybe able to get a few hours in, maybe not. All day Sat & Sun.

Looking at hotel room availability, it's very restricted in Sandusky on the weekend of the 8th. There more availability (and prices are better) the weekend of the 15th. So, the latter would be our preferred weekend.

However, the weekend of the 15th is Father's Day (June 17th), and there is also the Cedar Point 5k that day.

Does anyone know if Father's Day is traditionally a busy day? And whether the 5k contributes to the crowd at the park later that day?

I believe Ohio Bike Week is going on on June 8th, which is probably why hotel rooms are limited. As for crowds, I doubt the 5k will cause a dramatic increase.

Thanks Ralph. I didn't know about Bike Week. I do see it goes through that weekend. Do you think it would have an impact on CF attendance? From the schedule I saw, it looks like a pretty full slate of events and the people involved probably wouldn't have much time for anything else.

A lot of the attendees probably hit CP at some point during the week, but I've never noticed the motorcycle lot overflowing, so it probably doesn't make a big impact.
