First let me say I’ve been a long time reader of this forum and want to thank everyone for all the information on the point that I’ve obtained here.
Arrived at the park around 8:45 but knew we were going to be hard pressed to get in the MF line because we had to wait for brother in law to get season pass processed. I had high hopes anyway and we headed for the line around 9:10. By the time we got back to Thunder Canyon we decided to come back later and get a pass. We decided to hit Mean Streak first because we were already back there and we usually employ the start at the back of the park strategy anyhow. Managed to grab four rides on the Streak by 11. I was a little surprised it took us that long and knew the park was going to be busy. We then headed to Gemini and grabbed two rides with a few minute wait for each. (Even with the Blue car not running.) Next was the Magnum, which took around 25 minutes. Down to the Power Tower Drop which was a long 45 minute wait. At this point, I was getting a little worried about getting our Force passes because it was 1 and we weren’t there yet. We rushed over to the ticket line and it was a walk through. I talked to people who said they had to wait in that line in the morning just to get the tickets so I guess we came at a good time. It was so fast we decided to go through and grab another ticket. Both were for the 6-7 time frame and I was hoping to get both rides in. Little did I know that we could have gotten at least one or two more Force rides in that time. With the force tickets in hand we decided to check out the Mantis line. OUCH, 1 ½ hour wait on a Wen.??? We decided to skip it and come back. Headed towards the front of the park for lunch and thought about a Raptor ride before going out to the car. Another 1 ½ hour que line?? To hungry to endure that wait we were determined to get in one more ride before lunch so we settled on the demon drop. A 10 minute wait wasn’t bad for a ride I haven’t ridden in a few years and off to lunch it was. Made it back from lunch at 2:30 and bit the bullet for the Raptor line. Que stated a 45 min. wait but it took around 1 hour for the front car. (Only place to ride Raptor) We then popped over to the Blue Streak and grabbed two quick rides with a few minute wait for each. After this we went back to Mantis and endured another 1 hour wait for the front car. ( I was quite shocked at the wait time for a Wen. but realize the pass system is what was causing longer lines for the other rides.) By this time it was 5:30 and we headed to the Force for our first ride of the season. (This was my second trip but the first one was with the family so I didn’t hit the force.)
They let us in the que around 5:45 and we were loading into the blue train right around 6. I was so pumped when the line count stopped at us because I knew we were going to get the front car. However, special access riders were loaded into the train before ours, which bumped two riders out and of course they grabbed the front seat. We settled for the second seat in the front car and off we went. What an incredible rush the ride was and it surpassed Raptor as my favorite ride in the park. We hopped right back in line with our second pass and started to get worried when the trains stopped running. After a 15 min. breakdown the force was running again and this time we grabbed the back seat. (Much more air time in the front IMO. We were off of the ride at 6:45 and without the breakdown could have easily fit in two more rides had we secured enough passes.
At this point, we decided to bite the bullet and forgo dinner because we only has two hours of ride time left because we had to leave at 9. Headed back to Magnum and waited around 1 hour for the front car. Headed for the front of the park and finished the day off with a 50 minute Raptor wait (front car). Another great day at the point and can’t wait until the end of July when I’ll be there for the entire week.
I’ve read a lot of negative stuff about the pass system but it worked out great for us. I visited Disney in December and thought it worked really great there. Perhaps they should think about having a normal line along with the fast pass line like Disney does and have computers limiting you to only one ticket.
Mean Streak Rides: 6
Magnum Rides: 4
Raptor Rides: 4
Mantis Rides: 2
Force rides: 2
Nice TR, but you haven't really ridden Raptor until you've ridden in the back seat. That seat has the strongest forces on your body of any ride in the park (IMO)...
I was also there on Wednesday. The park seemed pretty packed for the middle of the week. I got in line for MF a little bit past the crossover. we finally made it up to the ramp and it broke down for a while. I decided that the child in front of me was becoming a little too annoying so I got out of line. I hopped on Mean Squeak (brused my back), and while I was in the queue I had the pleasure of watching them sweep the bugs off of the flood lights. We then got on Magnum, and waited only about 30 mins. Got to Corkscrew, lost my OSU hat. After that happened I was pretty mad so we got on over to Raptor. Waited 1 1/2 hrs. but that was ok by me. We headed up to MF got a pass for 4. That was my 1st ride ever on MF. MY OH MY! You just can't say enough about it. So we decided to calm things down a bit with a ride on the Dragon, and Wildcat. Got back into a a riding mood with Raptor. Kind of sucks in the middle on that ride. Well, he were hooked on MF. So we went back over there at about 7 and they were letting people without passes back in line so we got on in. I waited about an hour and a half for it. As soon as we got out of line we went and got our onride, and immediatly got back in line. We got our last ride of the night on that thing. It was about 10 when we were yanked out of the station. It's a very different ride at night. So that what I've gotta say. Wish I could go back again this summer but finances prevent it. DAMN OPEC! GO BUCKS
