June 27th, Best Ride Ever on Magnum

This entire TR is about one ride on Magnum!

Magnum was running great all night due to the warm humid air with no wind. Although I don;t normally clock Magnum, 1:56 (roughly) is pretty darn fast especially with the trims hitting hard. Magnum was of the hook that night!

After walking on for the last hour the park was open, my friend and I caught the second to last train out. It was black train and I sat in 1-3 left side. The op, who must be fairly new because I don't remember seeing him there that often checked my bar by pushing down until it hit my knee's. Because of my long, big legs this normally still leaves plenty of room. It's pretty tough for me to get stapled on Magnum unless they jump on top of the bar. Keep in mind that I was not trying any tricks like sitting up in the seat, putting my hand under the bar or even putting my one foot on the metal plate which would bump up my knee. I fount that those usually are what leads to getting stapled anyway. My feet were even crossed at the ankles firmly planted on the floor like a good boy.

As we left the station I pushed up the bar expecting it to stop right away, but it just kept going up, and up until it looked like it was all the way up! Later when I returned to the station, when the bars released it did go up an inch. That seat's bar for some reason locks higher than normal, but even my friend though it was all the way up. Still the only way I could have got out of is if I stood and pushed myself back and up without the seatbelt, and no I'm not stupid like some people who try and stand up on the lift. It's no wonder they tell people not to sand up because with those lovely bars it could be very easy to do, but for me It's tough enough for me to get out of Magnum wit the bar up and the seatbelt off!

I adjusted the seatbelt to my liking and off we went down the first hill, which is lackluster in that seat. The second hill i got up higher than normal for some great air and did not return to my seat until the train was in full dive for the tunnel

The 3rd hill may have been the most exhilarating moment in my life as I was ejected way up and floated there for what seemed like forever. I maid sure I said high to my friend up there because his head seemed like it was 3 feet below mine. After an hour or two I landed back in my seat just as we entered the pretzel.

I emptied to hear the familiar shcwshshesh (need trim brake sound effects) that I had been hearing all night but NO. The train just coasted through the brake. Of course the pretzel was rough but I just started screaming in delight!

Into the next tunnel (blackout) , then my head seemed like it was near the top of it as we crested the hill. Down, out and over the dogleg hop which yelled GREAT up and out to the left air for a change.

The end hops were just crazy with Magnum still running at a fast clip. The first one was like WOAH, while the second, and my favorite hop was WOAH WOAH! The camera hop was just WOAH! Some nice lights and Fog in the final tunnel give's it a WOAH WOAH! The end hop up before the brakes even offered some good air, comparable to that of Gemini's 2nd!

For those counting at home, there was nine moments of sweet airtime which all gave a different experience. The ride would have been excruciatingly painful if it were not for the bar being up there. Seatbelts are a good thing on Magnum! Rides like theses make it difficult to wait line for MF, but the two rides are totally different I feel so I try to spend equal time with each.

WOW!! Sounds really cool. I have only ridden the Magnum once. But I loved it! I waited for the front. Well I'm glad you had fun!

---How fast were we going?---
My two laps were awesome as well. Kudos to CP for fixing that axle problem. Magnum is running fantastic this year.
