June 17, 2002 --- Day of the Twister

I arrived at Cedar Point at 10:30 AM that day, because my mom took way too long getting ready! Why do women take so long...yet another mysterious question that mankind needs to find out. LOL!

Anyhoo, my parents dropped me off and I headed over to Raptor to find a 45 minute wait, and so I thought I'd just ride her later that day. I about freaked out though when I got by Raptor though....that day I took a loosely-clipped pack with me, that carried my season pass and money. I had it hooked onto my waist, and for some reason when I saw the Raptor, I had took of running to see what the wait time was. Well, when I got there, I noticed it was gone! I about crapped when I saw this, and I ran around and traced my steps until I found it....laying on the midway by the Sky Ride! I freaked out! All I could think of was somebody picking it up and walking off....and then I would have never heard the end of it from my parents! LOL! Anyways, back to the trip report and enough with the rambling of my carelessness. ;)

I decided to see if Wicked Twister was up and running, as when I went on June 7th, it was down all day and I never got to ride her. I was shocked to see it was running, but even more shocked at the small line...only a half hour wait! I took advantage of this when I had the chance! I was thinking she would be packed as Millennium Force always is, but I thought wrong. As I waited in line, I heard everybody saying that the ride was unsafe because the towers were saying, but I knew the real reason...I just kept my mouth shut and enjoyed how nervous they were...how strange of me! LOL! On my first ride, I got the seat right in front of the back seat.....what a complete and utter rush at launch! It was so intense I just took off screaming the whole ride! Wicked Twister is now one of my favorite coasters....at first when I saw it, I was thinking it would not be as bad as eveyone has sad....but boy howdy she flew and I formed a new-found respect for that ride She really does live up to her "wicked" name!

Next was my trek over to M-Force, knowing that I had no chance of even getting in line.....she had a two-hour wait, but I only went over there to get my hand stamped. I had missed out on this my last trip due to bad timing (see June 7th report), so I made sure I was early this time! I got my stamp for a 3-4 hour time period. After that, I walked over to Mantis to find a long 45 minute wait, so instead I headed over to Power Tower. I did the blast side and waited 15 minutes.

Next was Corkscrew for a 2-minute wait, and then over to Magnum for a 10-minute wait.....the line was not bad, as she was like liquid...it was as it never stopped moving until the station! Thanks Magum crew! :)

Next was Gemini which was running okay, but the lines seemed backed up. Only one line was open, and that was for the back of the trains. The line itself was very small, but it took forever to move it seemed. I don't know why they never opened up the other line...it would have went SO much faster if they did.
I waited a 5-minute wait it seemed for it, and rode it again after that. I got the blue train both times, and she won only once out of the two times. What really was bad that day on Gemini, is that nobody really wanted to handsmack....c'mon people...get into the Gemini spirit!!! :)

After Gemini, I went over to get me some fabolous CHOCOLATE DIPPIN-DOTS! Waited about 5 minutes because the vendor was too busy flirting with some young girls.....c'mon you college guy....I wanna eat! LOL! Dippin Dots...man's greatest creation, of course!!! I swear, they need to make a home version of that ice cream!

After my tasty treat, I rode Magnum again twice and waited about 10-15 minutes. She flew crazy this time! Pure airtime! Next up I made my long trek to Wicked Twister, and it had the same grand 1/2 hour wait time. Then over to Demon Drop for 10 minute wait, and I rode it twice.

Next was M-Force with my ever-so-wonderful hand stamp of heaven...I avoided the hour and a half wait, and only waited 20 minutes....just how cool is that? I talked to one girl in line who waited the full wait and as soon as we reached the station, she chickened out and left back down to the plaza!!!!!! How dumb is that....wait all that time and not ride....still cannot get over that one!!!!! Anyhoo, I got the seat right in front of the back seat, and got some great airtime and "back-benders"! Great ride!

Then over to Mantis for a 45-minute wait, which was the the second longest wait I had that day...compared to the 1/2 hour wait for Wicked Twister. Great ride...but OUCH! (All you guys...ya all know what I'm saying)! ;)

Then, over to Power Tower again for a 15 minute wait....I was just about to the turnstile on the space shot side, when I saw a ride op pull on the harnesses up, and get out the almighty hose.....I didn't see it (thank God), but somebody had puked all over one of the seats after riding. I asked the ride op to confirm this...yeah, I'm nosy! LOL! They sprayed the seats down and sent it up a few times to dry it off....great tactic! :)

Then over to Corkscrew for another 2-minute wait, and then to Raptor for a 1/2 hour wait. Great ride as always! It began to rain after I hit Raptor, and headed over to Bluestreak. Only a light sprinkle, but I did see that they had already shut down Demon Drop for rain saftey reasons. Took a few damp rides that only cost me like a 3-minute wait, on Bluestreak.

After this, I headed over to Wicked Twister as the rain got a bit heavier. It finally stopped after a bit while I was in line...then ater it stopped, the sun came out and a double rainbow was set out over the lake....ahh, a truly peacfeul thing to see....UNTIL.....(Wicked Twister will temperarly be shut down due to lighting in the area)! Everybody was kinda mad, and many people left the line, but I still stood my ground....I knew she would be back up soon...only 20 minutes later, she was back! We all clapped and cheered in the lines, as we saw the first train blast out of the station. I then rode her again after this.

Next up....Disaster Transport...waited about 25 minutes for this...truly still love the new themeing! Great job CP!!! :)

Next was just a single ride on Demon Drop, then to try my luck at games.....

I tried my luck at that gun/ball game, where ya have to shoot the cups to knock all three of them over...missed both times of course.....my goal that day was to win one of those HUGE stuffed Spongebob Squarepants! (I love that show.....and I plan on retiring to a pineapple under the sea when I get older)! LOL! Anyhoo, I then tired Wacky Wire....OMG, that game is fun and messed up and ugh.....just stressful! LOL! I tried forever, but kept losing.....after all the games I played, I ended up wasting $10 for a prize I didn't even win...oh well....! One of you guys will have to help me sometime to get me my Spongebob...I was so mad that I asked the game host if I could just BUY one...of course that answer was negative.... ;)

Then, the last ride of the night....Demon Drop! I was to be picked up at 8:30 that night...I know....it stinks. My parents had to be into bed early for work the next morning, and they didn't want to drive back to Danbury at night anyways...with all the Sandusky traffic and all. I was 5 minutes late to the car I think, but oh well! Overall, it was a grand day...not too bad on wait times! I can't beleive I rode the new Wicked Twister 4 times that day...I love those short lines for her!!!! My next trip is planned for Monday, July 8, 2002. Then after that, the next trip will be on Wendesday, July 17, 2002....with my Aunt Dawn, Uncle Jon, and my cousin Rachel....we had a blast the last time we went in 2000...but that's another past story! I may even go sooner than that if my schedule sees fit, so I'll let ya know! :)

Yeah, I wanted to go by myself a lot this year, just to see how it is. It's nice that you can ride whatever you want without another person wanting to ride something else. The bad thing is though, it can get depressing cause you don't get to talk to anybody really, and share the same experinces with them. Anyhoo, we should meet up sometime at CP and ride together! :)

I wandered around CP earlier this year by myself for the first time. It wasn't too bad. Like you said, you don't have to worry about what anyone else wants to do or anyone else getting tired, etc. I still think I prefer having a decisive group of 2 or 4, but anything larger, or a group that can't make up their mind or wants to wait in line for Mantis at 2PM with an hour wait when I know it will be a walkon later can get on my nerves! (wow, that was a mouthful!) I definitely had enough fun by myself that I wouldn't skip a trip to the park just because no one else could go.

Try going to the ball toss at Gemini for the Spongebob, it's much, much easier! Just throw the ball into a red glass and it's yours!

Good Luck!

Yeah I know. Usually when there's a lot of people we just sit around deciding and it gets on my nerves. I'm just like go for it. I usually talk to the people in line if I'm lucky:) But I say hey if you're easy going let's go!

Same here...I talk to a lot of people in line too sometimes....what "interesting" people you can find at CP! LOL! Yeah, I'm easy going at CP also....just go wherever and have a great time! My next trip is scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2002....I might be bringing a friend, but she might not be able to go...so it looks like another "loner day" for me then, unless I meet one of ya there!!! :) :)

Thanks about the Spongebob tip, Wings! I tried everything but that game, so I'll give it a shot! :)
