June 15th A nice surprise from my mom! (LONG)

June 15th was one of the best days ever!

OK here we go... my first trip report.

At 9:30AM my mom wakes me up and says "Get up were going to go ride Maverick!" I look at my clock and I said "Yeah right its 9:30." She said that we were going to go anyways.

We get to the park at 11:15. It looks packed but I would find out later that it wasnt. I also saw a bunch of ACE bumperstickers in the parking lot. I didnt know it was Coastermania.

While my family goes to the bathroom I take a fall on Demon Drop. 7 Minute wait. Great ride until you flip back right side up. OUCH

After Demon Drop my family and I split up. My sister went with my grandma and I went with my mom.

We took the skyride down and then waited to get on the train so we could go ride Maverick, but we saw that Mille had a short line so we went over there.

We waited 20 minutes and had a great ride in the very back seat.

After Mille we walked to Maverick. It was an hour wait. We got front row. I have 2 words to describe Maverick:Holy SH*T. I loved it. The only complaints that I have was that the tunnel wasnt dark enough, and that it didnt slow down enough in the tunnel. Still its tied for my #1 spot with TTD.

After Maverick we rode Skyhawk. 15 minute wait. Wow those restraints are uncomfortable! Still loved it.

We walked back to Gemini to meet with my sis and Grandma.

My sister is only 9 and she was not really a coaster rider. Her biggest one was Iron Dragon. My mom made her get on Gemini and she loved it. It was a 5 minute wait. The ride was really rough though.

After Gemini Me and Grandma went back to Maverick for a hour and 15 minute wait. It broke down for 15 minutes but then was good to go. This time we got very back and this was the best seat. So much airtime!!! Grandma didnt like getting splashed in the face at the S-curve but it felt good.

Then we walked to Power Tower (up) and it was a walk on. I love this ride.

We then went to Wicked Twister. 3 train wait. We got very middle so it wasnt very fun but still I love it.

Then we walked to Blue Streak. 2 train wait. Front row. Great airtime. It also helped me because it poped my ribs and I strained my muscels in my ribcage during baseball so that felt really good.

After BS we went to Disaster Transport. 20 minute wait. All I have to say is the air conditioning was good. :) Also did they change DT because I thought it was missing a few helixes. (SP) But those wouldnt make it any better anyways.

We rode WT again in the very back after a 5 minute wait. It was great.

Then we met back up with Mom and my Sister infront of MaXair. We rested a little bit and then we were off. We all walked together to the food place under the Dragster Grandstand, and I got a BBQ rib sub. It was great and it wasnt that over price.

Then me and mom got in line for TTD. 20 minute wait. We got very back row and it was fun ride. I thought we were going to get a rollback but it inched its way over the top. :(

We went to Magnum next for a 10 Minute wait. No trims and a great ride filled with airtime. Oh and there was lights and smoke in the last tunnel. Never seen that before!

We rode Mille again with a 30 minute wait.

We met up with G-ma and my sister again and walked to Maverick.We got in line at 9:59.:) My sister didnt want to ride so my mom told her she still had to wait in line with us so she didnt get kidnapped. :) That left us a hour and 10 minutes to talk her into it. :) She was about to cry when we got into the station. Then my mom made her get in. After a few bribes she got in the train. She sat by me in the very middle with Mom and grandma behind us. We rolled out infront of the lift hill and she saw the train infront of us shoot up the hill. That was bad. She started bursting into tears halfway up the hill. when we went down the hill she screamed her head off.

By the time we got in the tunnel it was all laughter! She loved it. After we were done she screamed "Lets do it again!" To bad it was like 11:30. We went and bought our onride photo and her face is hillarious.

It was her first upside down coaster and now she loves inversions.

So now my mom has 2 children who love coasters to death.

On the way out we walked by Raptor and my sister goes "WOW that goes upside down alot! Can we ride that next time?" Shes so funny.

So total rides ridden: 16

Money spent: Way to much ;)

Hours in the park: 11

Top coasters: in 1st place Maverick and TTD tie.....

In 2nd Magnum and in 3rd is Mille.

Why dont you like Skyhawk's restraints?

To me they are the perfect fit all sizes lap bars and very comfortable (its also the first time Ive heard complaints about comfort about them.)

Cuz the ride host have to push them down and most of the time they push them to far into the groin area. :)

Can i ask what you meant when you said...

Also did they change DT because I thought it was missing a few helixes. (SP) But those wouldnt make it any better anyways.

I went on 6/15 as well and I cannot belive how amazing of a day it was. Waited for an hour for Mav in the morning and again around 7, and boy does the line go fast. Two times about 30-45 waits for Millie. No wait for Raptor, Magnum, maXair, and WT. Dragster line started at the base of the ramp to the station! It did break down as me and my girl were the next to get on but maintanence hammered and chizzled at the catch car for about 20mins and it was back up. The only negative from the whole day was the ride op for Mavrick not letting any more than two people get in line for the front seat. I don't like over crowded stations but geez the extra queue space for the front is there for a reason. That and the feeling as I left that CPs attendence might be down due to the park feeling completely empty on a friday in June.

Great TR. Glad you managed to get your sister on Maverick. Now that she conquered that fear, it should be easier to get her to move up to the bigger coasters.

Also great you got to spend the day riding with your Grandma.

I dont really know. Me and my sister thought it was missing a helix that went aroud a big lighted up thing.
