July 6th Downtime, Heat,Laughs and KINZEL

We left columbus at 7:15 and were ready for another great day at the Point. After going by 23 road kill on route fourwe pulled on to the causeway. My friend and I ran to Maggie we got on twice (once in the ejector seat) in 15 minutes. We then decided to head to the back of the park we rode Gemini no the Blue side. We skipped over MS and CCMR. The wave swinger was calling my name and we played my new favorite game.... "kick the tree" I won because i kicked the tree 9 times and Nick (my friend) only kicked it twice. We decided to check out MF. The line was 1 1/2 hrs so we skipped it. I enhoyed some frys for lunch and then went on POWER tower. Great ride we went UP^ and had a great view of lake erie.

TTD had only ran for about an our before it rolled back and went down. A line was forming out side of th que soo we hoped in hopeing that it was a quick fix. Wow it deffianitly wasn't we waited for 1hr and after moving the car in and out of the sataion we gave up and headed for MF after waiting an hour for a great ride in the back seat we went to the WT midway. Went on ocean mottion and WT. WT was much more powerful then I remmember from last year. We seemed to gain much more speed on the 2nd pass through the station then i rember. we got ICEES at "The Gazbo".

While we were enjoying our Icees a employee cam up to us and asked how are day was going and if we were enjoying our day. I said yes and then asked him if he knew Dick Kinzel he told us that he was a nice guy and is always around. He then told us that we should go meet him. We asked where we should go and he told us. We found the offices and went in. Dick was in a very important meeting because he was going out of town for a couple days. But his secratery was very nice and told us some interseting things.

After that we headed to raptor and BS. and then headed home

Trip 9/10

Question, I went Wednesday, the 7th. TTD didnt run all day, neither did the wildcat, sky ride, thunder canyon, or white water landing. When we were in line for the mine ride, a lady who was apparently there tuesday, told us that a train got stuck at the top of TTD, and people had to be harnessed down. Now i imagine that was on the 6th, when you went. Did you see any sitings of people being harnessed off of the TTD??
I do hope you are being sarcastic....

Go Cubs! White Sox Suck!

WOW. i dont think that could happin. and if it did some one would just push it over.can some one tell me if im right
I love rumors.

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

Well I was there on the 6th and 7th. Wildcat did open up on the 7th by the way. Tuesday was a great day, we didn't wait longer than 45 minutes for anything including TTD. Well if TTD wouldn't have broke down right when we got seated in the blue train it wouldn't have been for more than 45 minutes. The 45 minute wait was on TTD and Mantis and Mantis was a big mistake.

Yes, and magnum is sinking.

All you'd need to do is to get everyone to hump the seat in front of them and I'm sure it would lean far enough one way or the other...;)
Yea but the top is to small it would roll one way or the orther after a few sec. the longes it has been up there is 10 sec. i know people that were on it and they sayed it was the recored

I never said i believed it. Dont make me sound like a loser. lol. It was just the fact that some mom told me, in front of her child, so I was like, why would she lie?

I just didnt know, anythings possible with how many times it breaks down :-/

And for the record, lol, I NEVER believed that the magnum was sinking! *** Edited 7/9/2004 12:32:34 AM UTC by Adviceman***

Sounds like someone needs to goto kindergarden again and learn how to be nice to others :-|
Maybe you should learn to spell kindergarten before you make fun of someone next time Adviceman.
But if that happend how did they get the train down. If that happend to me im so scared of heights i wouldnt get outta the train. O yea how would they get the harnesses up to the guest if they brought em up with a huge cherry picker or something wouldnt it be easier just to bring em down in that i dunno bout you guys but i think that mom was lying or was misinformed or something.
Ok, if the train did get stuck, the guests would be smart enough to move enough to get it to go down one way or another. Not everyone is stupid. Not to mention it would have to stop in an exact spot if it is even possible. Also at that height, the wind would more than likely push it one way or the other.

As for getting people down. They have an elevator I'm sure they would use, however they wouldn't need it since the train would fall and either rollback or finish the circuit.

If the train stopped up there and could not be "rocked" down by the riders, maintenence would ride the elevator up to the top and push the train over most likely. If something major happened where it could not be pushed down or could not safely compelte the rest of the circuit I believe there's a cat-walk at the tophat that they could unload the riders ont o and take the elevator down.
I think my spelling is fine.

As far as the elevator cat walk thing, that elevator is a one-man thing. I dont think they would use that to take down however many a train would hold. There was a crane in the middle all day Wednesday when i went. I dun think theyd pull them all out on the catwalk and ride them down the elevator. Too much work. They would probably spend more time getting the car down.

Nobody was evacuated from the top of the hill on TTD. First, the park doesn't own a crane big enough to reach the top of the hill (the one rented by the construction company was one of only two in the midwest, IIRC). Second, the odds of the train stalling on the top while fully loaded and not getting moving again, even with a push, are so incredibly minute that I'd regard it as impossible unless there were some mechanical failure.
