Day 1
Well, on July 5th at about 530 pm my dad, brother, sister, and two cousins arrived at Cedar Point. We went back to the cabins, where we stayed, and checked in. I grabbed my starlight ticket and ran to the park. I went in and went straight to Magnum. Ahhh yes, it was a great ride, walked on. The new paint looks great and definantly made the ride a little smoother. I got off that and realized that Dragster was actually running (in my 2 previous trips it was down, and I only rode it once each trip). I went straight there and got in line for my 3rd Dragster launch ever. Everytime I ride it, it is just as fun, I love it. It said hour wait, I waited 40 minutes. After getting off dragster I went to Power Tower for a quickie, then to the front of the park to check out maXair. I waited like 15 minutes and got on, seat 20. It was a fun ride, but it didn't quite meet expectations. It felt rather forceless, and I got off feeling like I hadn't done anything. I crossed the midway over to Raptor, and walked on, didn't have to wait a single train. It was a fair ride, it was running fast so there was a little headbanging, but a good ride. After that I grabbed some Dippin Dots for the walk to Millenium Force. I love Millenium Force, I only waited 45 minutes. After that I couldn't decide what to do, so I went and rode Magnum twice in a row, both only 3 train waits. I went to the little food stand under the grandstand and ate a little food, got me going. I decided to hit Mantis, it was getting dark, I thought it would be fun. Boy was it fun. I walked on, front car. I was excited to go up, only to hear the operator say he timed it so our train would be 3/4 up the lift when the laser show fire works began. I rode front car Mantis with fireworks going off, it was pure heaven. I walked back over to Dragster, waited about half hour to get in the station. I decided to try something I had never done, get in the front seat. I waited forever, like half hour, and was two trains away. The operator says, only 1 more train is going, fill up the other seats. I was pissed, but I still got my launch on the nights final train.
Day 2
Since I had ERT passes for staying at the park, I woke up at 8 am. I was about 10th in line at the Magnum entrance. When they opened it, I bolted for TTD. I got first car front seat, to make up for the night before. Oh what a fabulous ride it was! That ride doubles in greatness in the front seat. I got off, and decided to go over to MF, expecting it to be a little full by then. It wasn't, I got halfway up the ramp into the station before stopping. I rode somewhere in the middle, I don't really mind my seat on that ride. It was great fun. I got off and decided to wait for Mantis to open, seeing as TTD and MF were so full at 950 waiting again was out of the question. Wouldn't you know, one ride I wait for to open, doesn't open cause its broken? Well, had to leave, and went over to power tower, did power tower down. Power Tower down is way better than up, way better. Went to Magnum, walk on. Rode once and decided to walk over to Gemini for old times sake, where instead I ran into my cousins and sister. I told them Magnum was walk on and we should go, so we did. By this time though the line had somehow spilled out onto the stairs, so another ride was a no go. We walked back to Gemini, we had to meet my dad there, but we had time for one ride. We thought at least, half the queue on Gemini was full, unbelievable. we got off right at onbe to meet my dad and brother and little cousin. My brother and little cousin are 6, and my brother chickened out on a gemini ride, so I took my little cousin on it. This time, the entire queue was full. I have never seen anyhting like that before. My sister and I decided to go check out maXair, they hadn't seen it yet. Walking by, Gemini was 3/4 hour, Magnum 3/4 hour, Corkscrew half hour (no typo), and Power Tower was half full on both sides. Dragster was 2 hours. Day 1 was all walk ons, day 2 so far was the longest waits I have ever seen at CP. We got to maXair, and the line went all the way to the broken WT entrance. Lukcily that wasn't to long of a wait, maXair is super high capacity. This time, I got seat 3. Seat 3 made this one of the best rides in the park, it was no longer a let down. I loved it. We checked the line length on Raptor, 1 3/4 hours. Screw that. We went to Demon Drop, got on, went to the top and got stuck. 20 minutes at the top of Demon Drop, fun. We got down and we walked to MF, 2 hours, screw that. I ditched my sister and walked Frontier Trail to the Mine Ride. If you think Cp lacks theming, get a pair of glasses and walk the whole park, if you still say that, you got crap for brains. I rode the Mine Ride (stopped on second lift hill for 5 minutes), then went to Mean Streak. It said 15 minute wait, so I was all cool, because I actually like the ride. The line took an hour and 10 minutes, and was so long they could have used the old DJ booth effectively. Again, unbelievable. I walked up to Magnum, waited 20 minutes, and rode. Then I waited 20 minutes for Power Tower, it was fun, as always. I went and got a freeway for Mantis, then rode Mantis, then used the freeway. it was an hour wait. I went to MF, waited an hour and a half (blah), then sat around and ate. I finally rode Corkscrew once, then rode Magnum, then PT, then in line for dragster. Waited an hour, rode front seat, and went back to cabin and into bed.
Day 3
Woke up late, at 850, but still got in early and made it to the TTD freeway merge point. There, I meant a nine year old girl and her 2 parents. They asked if I would ride with their daughter, since I was by myself. I said sure, and we all went up and were waiting for front seat when the amazing happened. The checker yelled for 2 riders and the parents bolted, and rode. I was stuck with their daughter, with 10 minutes till I could get on the ride. We finally rode in a middle seat, then I went with her to look at our picture, We did, and came to find her parents were no where to be found. She said she'd be fine, so I left, knowing they were probably at Raptor by then;) I then went on a Magnum marathon, riding 6 times in a row. Basic walk on every time. I went and rode Mantis, then maXair, then went to TTD to look at the freeway. It opened at 2, it was around noon. I met my sister and cousins and we rode Magnum and Power Tower and grabbed food, and waited for freeway (TTD was 2 hour wait). Got the 4 to 5 and went to maXair, then finally, freeway time came for TTD. Final launch, everytime is great. Now I had time for one last ride, where did I go? MF. Halfway through the wait, train stopped half way up. Some idiot undid his seatbelt. Ended up taking hour and a half. Oh well, that was it. Came home.
FUN!!!!!
Pros:
Employees loved there jobs, I have never seen them so energetic. TTD and Magnum especially.
Lines first day didn't exist.
On the long line days the lines moved good.
TTD ran perfect whole trip, I was very impressed.
maXair is a good addition.
Cons:
Lines on day 2 and 3 were extreme, Corkscrew was 45 minutes, 'nuff said.
Wicked Twister never opened.
Mantis was running exreme, and I almost blacked out one ride.
I as usual had a blast, I absolutely love the park and can't wait till next year!
Yeah I was there the 6th and 7th. The lines were so extreme! I was getting Dragster Fries and I actually took a picture of the corkscrew line cuz I knew I would never see a line like that again. ;)
Am I the only one who thinks maXAir is the coolest ride in the world!?
Go Cubs! White Sox Suck!
Very Sweet Trip report!
Can i ask you some quick ?s on the early entrance?
Did they ask for your resort passes? And when did the line start getting big and stuff?
I <3 DMB
They asked for my early entrance when I had a standard ticket from the booth, and they didn't when I had one that they give you when you check in. The lines were all walk on the 5th, then horrible the 6th, and a little better the 7th. Definantly get in line for park at around 8, because you can get in both TTD and MF in a half hour.
I too was there the 6th and 7th, and the lines did seem pretty bad. But you said the line for Magnum was only down the stairs and you didnt wait for it? Thats probably a 10 minute wait, tops. Hardly a long wait...anywho...Hour and 10 minute wait for Mean Streak? Seirously? That is something...Anyways looks like the both of us still got a lot of riding in, despite the crowds. Im about to post my trip report.
