I understand that Cedar Point is having fireworks at around 10. However, today in the Toledo Blades Holiday Events section it says, "Fireworks July 4 at dusk along Sandusky Waterfront. Fireworks 10 pm skyline over Cedar Point amusement park."
My question is does the city of Sandusky have their own firework display in addition to Cedar Point's, or are the two combined?

I think Sandusky's fireworks are handled by Cedar Point, but CP uses them for advertising, ect.
I could be wrong.

Most newspapers and what not that list the fireworks are listing Sandusky's fireworks as being at Cedar Point.

Just because i dont think that this merits starting a new thread, does anyone know if the music to the fireworks will be broadcast over the radio like they did for opening day. If so, do you know what radio station it is? I'd like to watch them from the beach, but i'd like to be able to hear the music that goes along to it.

Do you mean the Cedar Point beach? If you're on the Boardwalk there, they have the speakers, I would think they'd run it through them too, since they do run it through the rest of the park.

I believe Sandusky has their own fireworks separate from CP, but I could be wrong. I have gone on the 4th to CP for the last 7 years and always see fireworks around Sandusky when I'm heading home. The fireworks are really great at CP and worth staying to watch. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the 4th this year at CP. :(
Yeah, thats what I was thinking in too after reading the Blade. It only makes sense to me that Sandusky, which is a reasonable sized city, would have their own seperate display from Cedar Point. Especially if Cedar Point's is on Lake Erie's beech, thats almost too far away for decent viewing from Sandusky.

Thanks alot for that! I called CP yesterday and the girl was like "um.... I honestly have no idea." haha. I was actually talking about being on the beach though, like grabbing one of those chairs and pulling it up close and watching from there with like a portable radio or something.

Cedar Point and the city of Sandusky have their own separate fireworks displays. The CP Fireworks will be broadcast /synchronized to live music on Mix 102.7.
I just came home from Sandusky about 2 hours ago from a night out on the town, and will be heading back tonight for Starlite Hours. Wheee!
Anyone have a better plan of action for leaving the place tonight? In the many years past, I haven't been able to get off-point until 2-3 AM which puts me at home around 3:30-4:30 :(
Sunday night, I discovered that they opened the "flood gates" on the Chausee side of the main parking lot, so I was able to sneak out pretty quickly, but I don't think that will happen this time around.
Did you leave right after the fireworks, or stay until close?

I always stay until close, and it's always the same thing. Of course, I've always parked around the back, and the jam happens over by MF, but still.

Actually, watching the CP fireworks from the Shoreline in Downtown Sandusky is awesome. I will never watch the CP fireworks at Cp ever again. AT CP they are unspectacular and awful because you don't get the full picture.
Last summer I was at Battery park on the breakwall. What a breathtaking view. You have the fireworks, the ride lights, the reflections off the bay and it just all blends together to make a spectacular show. If you want to see the CP fireworks in style, don't go to CP, go to the shoreline in Sandusky and watch them from across the water.
Unfortunatly this year, I'll have to see if I can see them from my patio above the trees. It took me an hour to get out of Battery park last year, and I have to be at work by 4am.
Well I made it back in record time... It only took me 20 minutes to get out of the parking lot and off the Causeway onto Cleveland Road.

We were disappointed too. They only lasted about 20 minutes. My local display in Brunswick lasted longer. We left right at midnight and it took us about 25 minutes to get off the causeway. My sister left at 11 and it took them 45 minutes
