July 4th Anybody?

I hope your "under 48-ers" don't mind waiting forever in line to ride those kiddy rides. Our first trip to CP was on the 4th of July (02), and my parents made me ride Jr. Gemini with my younger brother, and it literally took 40 minutes to get on. The fireworks are pretty good though. For anyone who is going on the 4th, drink some coffee after the fireworks and enjoy the two extra hours where the park will be dead, yet open! My parents made us leave right after the fireworks on the 4th, just like 80% of the crowds did. We could have spent the hour + time in the park insetad of sitting in the parking lot moving 0.1 mph! Take advantage of the extended park hours, please! Oh yeah, could someone please take their video camera and record the fireworks show for me? I will be at our local fireworks show while CP's is going on, so I will be deprived the right to watch by webcam :(. To all who are going on the 4th, enjoy, and STAY AFTER THE FIREWORKS!

We're going for the fireworks, this will be our son's second fireworks show! The first of course was opening day :-P

I went on the 4th in 2004 and the thing that I remember most was how windy it was. I was in line for Dragster and it shut down due to wind, and about 20 of us decided to wait inside the station for the ride. We ended up playing cards with the ride ops, and it turned out to be a pretty cool experience. As for the crowds, I don't recall it being bad at all, but at night time, crowds did thicken a bit. Yeah, the people aren't necessarily in the park, they're just on the peninsula come the evening. The fact that it's on a Tuesday may help things a bit too.

40 minutes for Jr Gemini is crazy! Hopefully the kids rides won't be that bad tomorrow. I don't expect to ride any coasters, this trip is all about the little ones but if those rides are packed it could be a long night

The park and the rides will be packed tomorrow. I'll be there like usual, but plan on taking a different approach this year. We'll probably spend a lot of time on the beach, hanging out and playing frisbee and such. I also plan to use tomorrow as a chance to get a lot of pictures, as I've been neglecting my camera at the park this year. It should be a fun day.
