July 29th - Short day

Our day started off fairly late. We arrived at Cedar Point at 3:00 in the afternoon to be exact. We headed to our first ride, Chaos..... But todays ride would be different from any other ride ive taken on Chaos. We were doing the usual flipping toward the end of the ride when it lowers down to the ground and it was locking the cars so they dont swing. Well ours locked us completely horizontal, we were staring at the ground while everyone else was gettin off. The ride OP didnt realize we were stuck until she was checking the carts for the next ride. She tried to unlock it manually but she made it worse and it tipped us completely upside down. Now the ride op starts to freak, asking us if we need anything and if everything is OK. Park OPs start to come to the ride askin if we are ok, while this wholetime we are still upside down. Mechanics finally arrive and a quick click of a switch we swung back down. A Park OP talked to us for a second and gave us a couple passes to any ride. It was a interesting day. I only got to ride chaos and power tower, but it was still a awesome day at the point
It was my first time ever going to Cedar Point yesterday (July 29th). I arrived at the park and hopped in line for Wicked Twister. It took about 5 minutes and we were on, it was one of the best rides ever, plain fun. Then we got in line for an hour and 45 minute wait for Milenium. We waited a while and decided to get out and were lucky enough to get a freeway stamp for it at 10-11 that night. Mantis was closed but soon opened later in the day with a long wait so we got another freeway stamp. Then we rode Power Tower--both red and green, Mean Streak which was considerably slowed down by the trim brakes on the first drop, Corkscrew, Raptor which is one fo my favorite inverts now, Demon Drop, and Magnum which was seemed extremely rough. No offense but how do some of you guys ride that ride, I almost flew out in the banked turns. I must just be too used to my little park which pretty much sucks (SFDL) because I live in Buffalo and the smoothness of S:ROS. Anyways dinner at Johnny Rockets was really good and a lot of food.

After dinner came the worst part, getting in line for TTD. Constant breakdowns and they wouldn't let everyone into the line. I got in. Waited 4 and a half hours and was third train to leave in the station. Missed both my freeways. Broke down. I think the train kept moving to far at the Christmas Tree because the tires were squeeling and the lights were on. All of a sudden the lights went off. This happened three times and I ended up getting the front access for TTD and any other ride. The problem is after this scenerio, my parents hate the park and don't want to go again. so what use are they? My experience was very disappointing and I thought the park would be alot better due to the praising everyone does. Maybe I will go again if I beg and only go for starlight.

I was so excited to ride the coasters and I missed the three I have wanted to go on forever(TTD, MF, and Mantis) This is my opinion so please don't flame. The parks food wasn't that great, the rides I did go on were amazing, the park also seemed a little out of date and I got lost so many times on their paths. Cedar Point is amazing probably if you didn't have a day like mine. I definitely will go again sometime, but I don't know when. The worst thing is that the park didn't leave a good impression on my mom, which makes it hard for me to convince her to take me. Half a year and I will be driving though, so maybe I will get a season pass and go then.

The crew at TTD really need to get on the ball. The mechanics didn't exactly look like they were trying even though they probably were. They need to inform us whats going on because they knew it wouldn't run but still made us sit in line. Maybe another day. Cedar Point is a two day park, I was only there for one though :(

first off they didn't make you wait in line because i'm sure you could've gotten out of line at any time. and second off you came into this not knowing what you were doing. third is you were depending on ttd to be reliable, which it's not. my #4 thing is that you say that the park is outdated. what the f*@# are you talking about?!?!?! have you seen that huge 420 foot monster in the middle of the park?!?! how is that outdated!?!?

the main thing you should've done is stay there an extra day because on your first visit you want to do everything and you just plain old can't.

sorry about my rants but you came into this expecting a new revelotionary ride to be perfect and have no downtime. also if there were three rides that you wanted to go on more than anything else, why didnt you go on them first? sorry but you had it coming calling a six flags ride smoother than cp rides just because of one bad expirience on a classic. try going to pki. then you will be complaining.

okay, that's all i will say for now, sorry for the bash but, oh well.

edit: btw, this is directed towards Djx210, sorry for not clarifying that

No, I definitely knew everything about this ride. I know its unreliable, and it always breaks down. I was just hoping I would get on. The one worker said everyone that was in line was guarentted a ride. So I waited it out. About the outdated stuff, its just the main midway, the colors and stuff around the games. The park is over 100 years old though. I had fun but just was disappointed at TTD like many other people.
