During the fourteen hours I was at Cedar Point I rode nine, yes nine, rides. Crowds were high during the entire day. I don't think that I saw a single queue not overflowing during the peak hours.
Anyways, We started our day by going straight to Millennium Force, just like EVERYONE else. We (Myself and my friend) ended up waiting two hours. The wait wasn't bad because we met two great females. The ride was great; althought those two females behind us got the front row. :(
After this we decided to go back to the Mean Streak. The lines were already about an hour long. Needless to say, we skipped that wait and moved over to Magnum. Forty five minutes we were waiting in the ejector seat. A great ride to say the least.
Anyways, with forty-five minutes or so until "meeting time" we had to find a short line. Well, every single different line was packed beyond the end of the queue.
Instead, we ate some lunch.
After we met, we did more line hunting, still no shorts.... It was time to ride Magnumn again. Lines stretched outside of the added queue. Yet again, another great ride on the ejector seat. Some people were haggling the ride-ops. They seemed to be regulars having a good time. I've not met anyone, but I think they were GTTP members.
Now the really "fun" part begins. Ticket to Ride just ended, so it was time for more Millenium Force. The projected wait was "two hours." Although, it was easily more like two and a half. During the wait two different brake downs stopped the ride for around a half an hour apiece. We decided to wait. A three hour chunk of our day was spent waiting for a great back seat ride.
At this point we hadn't ridden Raptor. So, we headed over and got in line right after a break down. One question, possibly for LuvRaptor. Do they call you "the Raptor mascot"? During the wait the DJ decided to have everyone cheer
for "the Raptor mascot."
Yet again, it was time for Millenium Force. The summer sucktacular started during the ride. It still sucks, nuff said. I must say, back row night rides are amazing!
With only fifteen minutes until closing we headed to Mantis. We had a second row ride, followed by the front row. By this time it was too late to ride anything else.
Anyways, it was a great day, altough really crowded. I was the kid with glasses in the lime green shirt, that's who I'll always be at Cedar Point. Look for me sometime.
Welcome to a Saturday in late July/early August.

Ya, I had some free time and an extra ticket.... Anyways, can someone please tell me when the heck the off-season begins? I need to make up for all of the wasted time!!
I was there as well. Actually, my friend and I drove out from Pittsburgh on Friday morning.
We stopped at Six Flags Ohio on the way, since I have a season pass to both SF and CP. My friend had never been there. Since this isn't CoasterBuzz, I'll just summarize by saying Villain wasn't open yet, Serial Thriller was running one train still so we skipped that hour wait. We rode Batman 3 times (I DO love that ride), Superman twice (ditto), everything else that I haven't mentioned otherwise once. Then we decided to continue on to Cedar Point. Overall, not a BAD count for leaving the park at 4pm. Decent place, but not Kennywood or CP. Some of the rides are great, but the park just doesn't "feel" right (for numerous reasons I won't go into here, see CoasterBuzz ;) )
We were staying at the Radisson. Quick checkin, dinner at Friday's, then we went to the park (we both have CP season passes, and I have a parking pass on my car, so we figured what the heck, it's "free".)
BOY were we glad we made that decision. We got to the park at 7:30pm Friday night, and it was as productive as Saturday!
Friday's count (one ride on each of)
Raptor
Blue Streak
Mean Streak
Gemini
Magnum
Corkscrew
Power Tower (Space Shot)
Mantis
Millennium Force (5-1 even! :) )
By the time we got off MF, it was just after 11 and the park was shut down, so we went back to the room.
Saturday morning we went back, we were in the park by 9:30 and hit the road to head for home around 6:30.
Rides for the day (one unless otherwise indicated)
Raptor
Blue Streak
Millennium Force (2) (as an aside, we had some interesting luck on this. We went through the TTR line twice in ~20 minutes, and ended up with consecutive timeslots. First time, we got the front row, second time, the back. Add that to getting 5-1 on Friday, and we had a nice varied time on MF this trip ;) )
Mean Streak
Gemini (3) (Capacity capacity capacity. Ye gods can this ride move people when they want it to! The ride ops were doing a GREAT job of turning the trains over, we even complimented them on it!)
IMAX show
And that's IT. Over twice the time in the park as Friday night, and the same number of "rides"! (And that was with Ticket to Ride working in our favor for MF!)
We rode Raptor first thing because it was running early, and we waited "only" 30 minutes for it. I was thinking it might have been better to go to the back and work our way forward, but this was the right call as it turned out. Raptor was over an hour the rest of the day, at least when we were in the general area.
When we got off Raptor, Blue Streak was running, so we hit it real quick.
After that, it was TTR line, lunch, MF twice, then Mean Streak, Gemini 3x, and IMAX. We even passed on the MAGNUM (1.5 hrs when we walked by)!
The crowd was HUGE. I can't remember the last time I saw the park this crowded. It was FAR worse than CoasterMania! Then again, this is the first time I've gotten a season pass in like 5 years ;)
It was a good trip, but I'm definitely glad we stopped in the night before.

it WAS a VERY beautiful day weather-wise...who wouldn't go to the park in 70 degree, sunny weather??? sounds like you guys made the best of what could have been a bad situation.

Dispatch Master, This is Transport one! I'm losing control, I'm losing control!
Well, that night was my first impression ever of CP which I enjoyed immensely. I will post a full TR soon, but I was prepared for the lines that night(only one MF), but I was blown away by the lack of lines just the next day. I don't want to give my TR away, but can anyone say six more MF rides?
July 23, Crowded? No!
I think Scott and I had ridden all of the coasters except Millennium Force, Mantis, and Jr. Gemini before 1:00pm. And Scott had ridden Millennium Force that morning while I was making the drive up...
My TR: is coming to rec.roller-coaster. I don't have a good way to post it here, unfortunately..
