Sorry this is a little late, but I just got an account (or rather, I had an account, and I just started using it) so here is my trip from Friday the 20th to Saturday the 21st. W
We started off the day by driving an hour to get to the point. After that, we got to Sandcastle Suites and dumped all of our stuff at the hotel. When I say 'we' I mean me, my sister, my mother and father.
Then, drove to the resort entrance. We got out of the car and walked into the park after a short wait for our tickets. The first day we were meeting up with my sister's friend and her ad and brother, so we headed to the front of the park to meet them. After we found our group we headed over to the Blue Streak. I know it was still early in the day, but the wait was nearly 50 minutes! Rather high even for a morning.
Then we went to Iron Dragon which had a twenty minute wait, which was also, annoying. But it was an okay ride I guess, not my first choice but my sister and her friend wanted to ride it so we did. After that we went back to Gemini, and yes, we skipped Magnum, for reasons I am not sure of.
The line for the Gemini was absurd for the usual wait for it. There was only one side running, which added to it, but the line would have still been well past the bottom of the stairs and into the queue area if both were running. And the line wasn't entirely boring. Once we got close to the stairs, we saw a bat flopping around in the grass my a tree. The bat was getting rather close to a kid about eight years old. And naturally, the bat latched onto the kid and wouldn't let go. So my father pushes through the line and to the kid, kicks the bat off with his foot, and kicks t hard back into the grassy area.
Not the normal thing that happens when your waiting in line huh?
After that little incident, the line seemed to move quicker and we got to the station, which was packed. We rode somewhere near the front and had a really good ride, despite it not racing. It is one of my favorite rides in the park.
After that, we go back towards the back of the park, and yes, we skip Maverick.
(Just an FYI, this is me of the breakthrough trips to an amusement parks that I had and. Was quite a wimpy thirteen year old when it came to coasters until now. And I had only ridden a select few from the park).
Then we went to Mean Streak. I really dis like the people who hate on this ride. It is smooth compared to Gwazi at Busch Gradens, and I liked it a lot. Probably because it was refurbished a which made it better. I really enjoyed it and the line wasn't all that long. So all of you people who hate it just don't ride it, it gives the people who like it a shorter line:)
After this, loop back around by Millenium, yet don't ride, and go to Mantis. I had really wanted to try Mantis out so, me, my sister, her friend and her dad got in the one and a half hour line. I learned a valuable lesson. Don't ride the ride if the wait is more than fifteen minutes. The fact that it was that long blew my mind. I disliked it a lot. The first drop and loop were fine, then my legs felt like they were about to explode. I didn't get my 'area' crushed like most guys do, but that was probably because I was standing correctly. The pressure was what blew it. Needless to say, we did not buy the ride photo, because well looked like dying animals.
After that, we all walked around for a little bit. And made our was back t the front of the park towards Raptor. The line board said forty five minutes so we thought that was the least crowded it would be all day and we went into the line. It was actually shorter than forty five minutes, and this was the most fun that I have had in line. The music was great and the people were cool. I didn't like the queue itself however because it felt like you were cattle in a small pen that kept getting hotter and hotter.
Complaints aside, I really liked the ride, and it being my first time, was comparing it to Montu, in Busch Gardens Tampa. I didn't like it as much.
Then, while my sister, her friend and her family went over to to Disaster Transport for one last ride, I rode Wicked Twister for the first time. It is a totally underrated ride and it is my favorite in the park aside from Dragster. It was a walk on, disaster transport was almost a forty five minute wait so I rode it like six times in a row, and when the Rest of the group got back, we rode it three times. I loved it.
After that we went back t the back of the park where we rode Magnum, which is always fun and up until that trip, my favorite ride. Then we finally went back to Maverick. It was almost Dark when we entered the line and oh my goodness did we luck out. How long was the line, you ask? Thirty minutes. Yes, 30. I am an avid coaster enthusiast and I know on Fridays, Maverick should have about a two hour, to two and a half hour wait, so we timed it perfectly, when everyone as in the front, we were in the back on Maverick.
And despite the amazing reviews on how this was the best coaster there, I really didn't enjoy it as much. I knew what was coming throughout the entire ride, because i had seen pov's and looked over the stats before, but the only two parts I liked we're the drop and the launch.
After this we went to a shop and gt an elephant ear before we left and went back to Sandcastle suites for the night. We got up early and went to breakfast, which was a terrible service place with bad waitresses and overpriced and not very good food.
We then went to the park and got fast passes for the Saturday. We went to the entrance and hopped right on Magnum, cutting through about forty minutes of line. I love good ol Maggie. Then we rode again, somewhat towards the front of the train.
After that we went back to Gemini and skipped the line, which was about as long as the previous day's. And had a good time in the front seat. Then we went back to Mean Streak, and rode twice. And back to Mvaerick. When we got to the Maverick line I was shocked. The fast lane line alone was fifty 50 minutes. We rode anyways, liked it a little bit betterin the daytime.
We went back to the front of the park and walked on Raptor, and had an okay experience, then rode Blue Streak again. Then Wicked Twister as well.
After that we went t the grand finale, the Dragster. It was four o clock but we decided it was going to be the last ride. Guess how long the fast lane was. Ten minutes. So we got up to the front of the line and I am sweating a ton. I get into the middle of the train wit my dad and we pull up to the starting position.
And boom. 120 mph and 420 feet in seventeen seconds. The biggest seventeen seconds of my life and the most fun too.
We left the park after that ride.
I can't wait to get back to the park in May and do some heavy duty coaster riding, and really wanting to ride Millenium, and Gatekeeper! Best Cedar Point trp ever.
