It was a last minute decision to head to the park at about six pm. I was late, I knew it, I didn't care. I arrived at the park at seven and headed straight for a closed Windseeker. Why was it closed? To much wind of course. It was your typical summer evening weather wise, but 300 feet up it's a bit breezy. It was closed the rest of the day.
That area of the park was disappointing, as we also walked past a closed MaxAir on the way to Windseeker. That stadium? WHEN will they get that thing out of there? Ocean Motion looks nice in place of Demon Drop. I thought it was well done, and reminded me of Kennywood for some reason. I'll have to look at some pictures to see why.
I walked by Pinks, the patio area did not look busy at all but I failed to get a good look inside tonight. I'll try it next week on a return trip.
Off to Millennium Force, my fist ride in over two years. The line only filled the last area up the ramp to the station being about twenty minutes. I loved it, and it still remains as my favorite ride. I almost got back in line, but decided to move on to Skyhawk which is favorite ride number two! It's always fun, what else can I say about it? If you've been on it you know what I mean.
Maverick, the line started at the entrance to the building. I made it to the first railing and the trains started stacking right away. I knew it it was down just before I noticed people leaving the line. I took off with limited time and headed to Stockade for an Elephant Ear and a cold drink. I have no idea what I payed for it yet. Honestly I really don't care because it was worth every cent.
While I was destroying that elephant ear I walked to Dragster.
Ten minutes up the ramp to the back seat of the purple train. You go up very fast, you go down very fast, and it's over. The one trick pony that get's me every time I ride it. It's worth it just for the launch and I will ride this again multiple times on a return trip next week.
Magnum, two train wait for the front seat. First half was smooth as silk. The return trip not so. I still love the view from the top of the first hill, it's worth the bumps near the end of the ride.
Power Tower, walk on drop side, yet another nice view, but the same old Power Tower with only one tower for each side open. Next time I will remind myself to ride something else.
By this time it's 9:45. I noticed MaxAir had opened but decided to hit Raptor on the way out. A two train wait for Raptor to close the night is always fun. Just one of the best night rides in a long time. Slam dunk!!!
Back to the car and at Taco Bell in about ten minutes and home by 11:30.
Overall a good quick run through the park. Everything looked nice. I did however notice the Giant Wheel lighting. As I mentioned earlier, I was disappointed in that area. Looking around I am nearly convinced that more is coming to that area soon.
You can find me in line for Millenium Force when it opens on Wendsday. See ya there!
