Okay, so my trip report is more of a observation of a short period of time I was in the park. I got to the park around 3, and unlike last time, I didn't wait around for the girlfriend and I went into the park and rode Magnum around 4-5 times in a row.
After that, I walked back to White Water Landing, because I wanted to talk to someone on the crew, but she wasn't anywhere to be seen, and I wasn't waiting in the 15-20 minute line. So I rode the train up front, and as I was walking by the Dodgems, my girlfriend called and they were at the Marina gate, so I ran out, and got into the car.
We went back and chilled at Soak City the rest of the afternoon, mostly in the Lazy River. For a while it got cold with the wind and shade, and I really couldn't wait for my birthday in 4 weeks when I can go sit in the hot tub in the adults only section.
So I had some really important observations:
*The spieling on Magnum is great, and the Ride Op was having a blast with it. I heard some guests talking about it behind me, and they really got into it, and even talked about it some more when we were sitting on the ready brakes.
*Lots of idiot people stand on the exit side of the platform and try to wave out to their friends/family that was in the train behind them, causing a traffic jam. It's highly annoying, and hard for the ride ops to to hit interval if they have to keep telling people to go down the exit
*Interval. The crew missed it about 20 times in a row, and even had a C-Set. Maybe it's apathy or the heat, but they really weren't trying. I heard ready-ready so many times in my approximately 45 minutes of riding around.
*Wait times for Magnum were about 2-4 trains long. Just the way I like it.
*I still like Shivering Timbers better :)
Anyway, I ended up not making it back to the park because it was my girlfriends birthday. We hung out in Soak City until about 6:30 or 7 and then went out to eat at Chili's. I really like the one in Sandusky, and thought the service was again really great.
Of course I saw Mikey come in with a group of people that work at the park. It's always nice to see Mikey. And, Ryan from Skyride came in after that, and it was always nice to see and talk to him for a few minutes.
All in all, a pretty good trip, even if it included about an hour total time being in the actual amusement park.
Yeah. I'm really starting to enjoy going to Soak City (Although, I'm sure everyone else isn't enjoying having to see me in a bathing suit :P) so much that I think I'll get a combo pass from now on.
Matt, the adult pool is great. It's a fine place to chill and relax without the crowds and kids in the rest of Soak City, plus they play better music also.
Let me recommend their Long Island Iced Teas. It's the "value meal" of the drinks they serve there. :)
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
