I've not posted anything here before...I'm a lurker I guess. But I've been watching and I'm surprised that nobody has posted about the power outage on Wed. the 16th at around 5:00p.m. The whole park, as far as the eye could see, were rides frozen in place. Are outages like this so common there that they aren't even given a second thought? Don't get me wrong, I love the rides. I went for the first time ever on June 22-23 and was back again on July 16. But I'm not too confidant in the power grid. The TTD was down from opening time until around 4:30 I'd say. The people in line for that ride sat there in the heat ALL DAY waiting for the repairs to be finished. I don't know how they did it in that heat.
At some point in the day our small group of four headed over to the beach to take a nice stroll on the edge of the water. It was lovely....until we had to walk around a HUMAN TURD. I mean come on people!
The price of a drink (small or bottled) is about the same price as a gallon of gas, the food selection and quality left much to be desired. The games are SO not worth the price they charge. The whole place needs more seating and shaded areas.
So in all, IMHO, the rides are great..not so great that I'd stand in line for HOURS, but the rest of the Cedar Point Experience was a bust. Save your money and just drive in city traffic...the rush is the same.
While avoiding a human turd is gross, and a power outage for the entire park would be wierd...I would have to definately disagree with you that driving in traffic gives you the same thrill as riding coasters.
Cedar Point has some of the best roller coasters in the world. Not to mention that most of them broke world records when they were built. Just because you had one bad experience, doesn't mean that everytime will be the same.
Did you ride all of their coasters? If so, and you still think they arn't thrilling enough for you...then I guess CP just isn't your cup of tea. But I think that all of their coasters are amazing. And if something in the park doesn't get me going, I can head over to the Challenge park and take a ride on Sky Scraper. Now that is some craziness right there.
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
