Been going to CP every year for 20+ now, and this last Friday was AWESOME !
INTRO : I'm a coaster junkie, and I haven't been able to get my son (13) to ride hardly any without the "aw, c'mon - it's really fun, I PROMISE you won't get hurt" speech. So we usually have to do an adult trip (for coastering) and a kiddie trip. So, thinking it's gonna be our kiddy trip, we take our nephew along this year, first time he's ever been (9) - and he's just tall enough to ride everything.
Friday : This kid turns out to be a complete ANIMAL on the coasters. We started with the Raptor, his request - and he loved it. Begged to ride everything ! What was awesome was my son had to play the "tough, older cousin" role - so he rode it all too ! By the end of the night, they were both begging for more coasters !! My Animal nephew was actually HANDS-UP on the Force ! I was in awe. Here this 9 year old kid, sitting on the Millinium Force for the first time, hands-up - Beginning to End ! Unreal !
I couldn't believe the lines either ... Everything was or nearly was a walk-on (except MF or TTD - which were 1/2 hour lines). !
All in all, with the great lines, my nephews new loves, and my sons new found bravery ..... it really was an incredible day.
My 6-year old brother rode the Force for the first time with his hands up. It was even his first coaster above 50 feet, (Sea Dragon) at Wyandot Lake.
