"I *WILL* be there for Halloweekends. It may just be you and I, we'll see. These season passes are a pain in the wallet! You think it's a free trip to the park. But I dropped $250 in 48 hours! Still a savings, I know, but geez. I Gotta get better about bringing drinks and eatin outta the car! I look forward to riding TTD with you... and we will! Oh, I forgot... after I hung up from telling you about my TTD ride... ...Drew, Emily, Buddy, and I got in line for TDT (That Damn Thing) (them for the first time, me AGAIN!)... the sign said expect a 2 hour wait... in 1 hour and 10 minutes we decided it was running so smooth that we'd wait for the front car!!!! I gotta say that it is hard to get bored in that line! Everyone is talking to everyone else and I am serious when I say the line RARELY stops moving! Start to finish it took an hour and a half total from the time we got in line until we got in the front seat of "that damn thing"... NOT BAD!!!! Buddy and Emily took the front seat of the train before us, we took the train after. The staff had 5 trains running, 2 loading, 2 unloading, and 1 buffer (oops) train. When on the loading station you see 2 trains come around, you get on, and both advance to the "launch zone". In the time it takes to send those 2 up, they load the other two. You can tell by the layout that they are set up for 6 trains... 2 in the launch zone, 2 loading, and 2 unloading. While we waited I timed the ride by counting launches. They averaged one per minute for the hour that I timed them, and over a four hour period they never stopped sending it up. I dunno what you're hearing on the boards. I dunno whether Cedar Fair's competitors are active posting or not, but I have to tell you... when "that damn thing" is up and running, it moves people like nothing else in the park! I *DID* notice that it was 3pm Monday before they sent more than a few trains without delays. After that though, I know for a fact it went 4 hours uninterrupted... and I really think it went until midnight, but I was riding other things and watching the laser show, not watching TTD exclusively. Hey, CP has more than one attraction ya know!
I want to tie today's (Tuesday's) observations to that as well... Top Thrill Dragster seemed dead all day, until about 2pm, then it came alive. We had already moved to Soak City and were sitting at "Bubbles" (I love that place!), and all I had to do was sip on my "tea" and watch "that damn thing" go over the top...... again, and again, and again. I think it takes them an eternity to bring it up, but once it's up, look out! It moves people through a queue like nobody's business!
TTD aside, this was my best trip ever to Cedar Point! The staff were cheerful, friendly, and seemed truely sincere in their effort to make sure our visit wasenjoyable. I really felt they were having as much fun as we were! Even when"that damn thing" wasn't running, the staff that were tending to the "line of hopefools" were laughing and joking with everyone. To think that there were so many people from so many places around the world waiting when TTD was "down" and they were all content with that says quite a bit about Cedar Fair and it's staff. Kudos to all of them!
After I talked with you I made a special trip to Corkscrew to say "Hi" to Kara. She *was* there, and while I couldn't get to her when I got on, I was happy to see that she was the one to lift the bar from our car. I said, "MrScott says hi", she seemed taken by surprise, and replied, "Thanks!". I didn't have time to tell her who I was. Bet she ain't sleepin tonight wonderin about that! LOL!
Other highlights: Millienium Force: 2 rides, average 30 miute wait.Magnum: 1 ride, 20 minute wait.Power Tower (green), 1 ride, 20 minute wait (2nd only to "that damn thing", BTW).Kids did multiple Demon Drop's etc while we waited on TTD. Didn't try Raptor, Mantis, Whicked Twister, etc... but hit all the lessor rides... and I mean ALL of them in 15 minutes or less. Thunder Canyon **DESTROYED** Brittney!! Lines were shorter on Monday than Tuesday, but we hit the coasters first Tuesday and I think it may be better to wait until later in the day after the "rush". Brittney "gave in" to the call of the coasters :-) she really liked Millienium Force, which fell second only to Magnum. But she says she wants to ride... brace yourself... "That Damn Thing" with uncle Scott!! Good luck bro, she screams like nothing you've ever heard! And I'm sure you know... if Cedar Fair will let Dani on it, she'll ride it with uncle Scott!
Later!
