July 11, 2006 - CP in the Rain

I got in the park around 11:30 through the main gate and didn't want to start off the day with a long wait, so my friend and I walked a little ways.

The park seemed crowded, but not crazy. I walked past TTD and it was running extremely well. I love it when I see trains launching up the tower every time I look over at it.

The first line under 30 minutes was Magnum. I was glad to see the station being controled finally. It took long enough. The ride seemed smoother and faster than usual.

The longest wait of the day was for MF. It said an hour, but due to a breakdown, it was 15 minutes longer. It was fun to experience the ride again without the rain pellets. :)

It was about 2:30 and I entered the line for maXair. The ride brokedown as I was in line, I decided to wait it out, but then the rain started. The remaining people in line all crowded together under the sun shades (didn't help much) and as that happened, the ride started running again. While the rain made it a little painful, this was the most fun I ever had on maXair.

The rain was very steady so we went to Midway Market to eat. $16 is a bit much, but I usually pay $9 for the crappy park food and the food here is great, so I'd say it's worth it.

I went back to our hotel for a hour for break from the rain. Then I came back and the rain slowed down enough for Raptor to run.

The line was only 30 minutes, so I waited. The rain started and the ride shut down, then it stopped two minutes later and it started up again. It then did this again and I then got on. The rain started up again as I was heading up the lift hill, so I was one of the last ones on the ride for the day. Best Raptor ride I ever had, it seems to get faster each time I go.

It was getting dark so I walked to the back of the park for a ride on Skyhawk and Mean Streak. The rain made Skyhawk a little painful.

It was 9:45 and I got in line for Mean Streak. Not one person in line. I walked up to the station and there were two girls in the back of the train so we got in the front. At this time it was raining very hard, but we were up for it. I don't think I laughed so hard in my life. We had a blast, we were also soaked head to toe.

It was sad that TTD never opened again for I could ride, but oh well. There's always next time.

That was my whole day at the park and I was surprised at how many people stayed at the park all the way to close with it raining for so long. CP never disapoints (even in the rain), I had a great time. :)

Sounded cool. Good to hear TTD is running good and hitting it's intervals.

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

My trip had 3 hour thunder showers. First day it rained for an hour at
10:30 and I didn't even get on a ride yet. Then at 9 severe thunderstorms with lightning striking, craploads of flood warnings, and tornado warnings. Worst weather I ever been through let alone in a tent. Then the next day rain from 3-6. I'm so glad we went down the road to look at MF. If we didn't we would leave and I would have 4 less hours at CP. It started to stop and we saw MF go up the hill. We went over to the Magnum lot, and went around Frontier Town and I got another ride on Millie at night. I was so happy.
