Joe Cool Membership

I just read about all the perks that Joe Cool Members get, and I was wondering. Does being an employee grant you the same perks (i.e. early rides on millie and TTD)? If not, are employees still able to purchase a Joe Cool membership? Thanks for all the help. :) ~Diana

You're not "supposed" to ride during those times, however I'm sure it's very easy to stand in a line and blend in ;)

My theories... I assume that the ride host/hostess at the queue entrance checks a guest's season pass for the Joe Cool logo before allowing them into the line for ERT (just like the ESD folks check our employee IDs during ride nights). The resort guests (who are also allowed in early for ERT) might have to show their Resort card at the ride entrance that they show for early entrance into the park.

The only way a person can join the Joe Cool Club is if he or she has purchased a Cedar Point season pass and wants to purchase the Club membership as well. Your employee ID works like a (combo) season pass to enter Cedar Point and Soak City but we can't join the Joe Cool Club with it.

Remember though, as employees, we already have all those great events that ESD provides (think...trips to other parks...ride nights just for us!!!), plus all those nifty benefits around town in the Employee Discount Guide, so we've got it really good as it is. ^_^

Thanks guys :) Lee, what's an employee discount guide?

An Employee Discount Guide is a brocheure that you can pick up from Human Resources when you process in. It has a listing of all different benefits Cedar Point employees are eligible for just by showing their Cedar Point ID. Some discounts are at the park itself, but the majority of them are around town. Last summer, you could get discounts on everything from pizza to haircuts to getting your car fixed. I went to the Carousel Museum in Sandusky for free with it. It's a really nice thing to have.

Lee, last year I had joe cool with my season pass and they only check it at the entrance to the park. Employee ride nights are different since their for employees only.

That reminds me, I got my 2003 season pass, joe cool and parking pass back when they came out. I decided to work at the point after that...

Yea - they didn't check for passes at the individual ride lines last year because JCC and resort people were the only people in the park at that point anyway. They might have to check this year though at least for the evening ERT's.

Then of course there's me with season pass, JCC, and parking pass in addition to working at the park. I probably wouldn't have bothered with the parking pass if I knew I was working there, but I ordered everything way back when they were on sale.

Matt's right. Since only JCC and Resorts guest are the only people that are suppose to be in the park that early, we didn't check at the entrance of the rides, only at the park entrance. Sometimes there would be employees (mostly foreigners) at the ride entrance before we even got there in the morning waiting to ride.

Steel Monsters, I remember right, you can get rembersed for your season pass once you start.
