I just got this email from Cedar Point. I inquired if we would be able to wait outside the queue for it to open and here's the response:

Hi Matt,

Thank you for your interest in Cedar Point.

Maverick will NOT BE open for Joe Cool/Resort Guest early entry on Opening Day May 12 because the Red Cross auction winners will be riding at that time. Top Thrill Dragster will be open instead of Maverick opening day only, weather permitting.

OH wow, what a choice! Dragster first, or get a good spot inline for Maverick........this is a tough one......really!

I wish I could be there opening day...I still haven't officially ordered my season pass yet. Do you think it would be worth it to order online at this point or just buy it at the center when I go May 20? I know I could probably save time on that day if I order online. I just don't know how long all this takes as this is my first year for a pass. Sooo excited though.

Being your first pass, you'll have to fill out some forms which take a bit of time depending on what passes you get. If you're able to, I'd say order online first and just bring the voucher(s) with you so that you dont have to wait in line to buy the pass.

Okay. Thanks. I'd just hate to give up potential ride time if I can prevent it!
