Jobless for good cause

I don't think its that they are not supposed to, but that many do not because of the possible legal implications. Which is BS. If I'm hiring someone and he effed around at his last job I want to know about it. But because if you give a "false" assessment of someone's performance, they COULD turn around and sue you for slander.

Goodbye MrScott

John

I work every single Saturday and I asked a month in advance to have opening day off. It was the first Saturday I had off in an entire year. They never asked why and I didn't get fired. I don't see why this is such a big deal.

This year:
Maverick: 5
MF: 4
TTD: 2
Skyhawk: 5

He didn't ask for it off (from the sounds of the post). It sounds like he called in sick that day so he could go to the park.

^^^ That sounds about right. Though, it really doesn't matter, since if I were calling a reference, and that former employer simply said something along the lines of "no comment", I'd know the score.

Nah, the annotation behind my post was because the reasoning of the firing.

Most places won't fire you because you called off one time. There must've been something else going on. Maybe they didn't like their job? Or maybe they had a bad performance record?
I would be upset if I was fired over one call-off.

Who knows. The thing that gets me is the tone I got from the original post which prompted me to post my "news" post.

I guess I'm sorry if I made people upset.

Being a dick? It's called being honest, dude. You don't like it, then go somewhere else. What the guy did was stupid. Especially because he thinks its the most hilarious thing in the world.

And judging from most people who posted here, I'm in the majority.

I hear the Sesame Street message boards can be very friendly, and they even count to ten!

yes, you're being a dick. I think it's funny and I have a real job that pays real money. What do you do that makes you so high and mighty?

Ooooh. You're in the Majority. That must make you right. Is it lonely up there on your pedestel?

Incase you forgot, you might want to check the average age of the users on here. You can pretend to be king of the 15 year olds all day long on this board if you want. But it does not give you the right to act like a hard ass.

Hey Mk522, if it is all right with you, may I join you in your pedestal?
I feel you are correct on your assessment of this post. *** Edited 6/15/2007 7:11:37 PM UTC by Ryan L***

DJ, do you ever read The Onion? I suspect it's up your alley. ;)

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

Everyone reads the onion. It's the mostest truest thing out there.

Count me out Sir. I do not read it.

Guess I am in the what...the minority?

well a my shift keys fine im just to lazy to use it and b an employer even if they get a bad review they instantly look at amusement parks and carnivals and things along that line and dont even give them much of a thought other then work experience and finnaly its obviously not as big of a deal as some people are making especially since it didnt even happen to you

Why is everyone making such a woopie skippy over this? Some guy on the internet lost his job because he went to Cedar Point. Is he anyone on here's son or close family member?

I think it's funny. If he thinks it's funny then I'll laugh with him.

and that makes you wrong.

TTD, when people do things that other users don't agree with they feel a need to get up on their soap box and preach. It makes everything right with the world.

Wow... possibly the longest run on sentence ever! :)

Why did you call off? You should have put your request in writing and honestly stated your intentions, and then you may not have lost your job.
