Hey my name is Emily and on Feb. 15 I applied to work at Cedar Point . Do you think that that is to late to apply for this coming season? Are alot of the jobs already filled by returning workers and earlier appliers?

They never stop hiring.

I would say a lot of the hiring has taken place but definitly not all of it.

I would venture to say that jobs at Cedar Point are going to be slightly more competitive than in years past, simply due to the economy. I haven't heard anything specific about Cedar Point, but Carowinds reported receiving 6,700 applications in January, compared with just 800 last year. If CP is seeing a similar increase, managers will have a much larger group to choose from this year.

Don't lose hope. It is inevitable: some will quit and some will be fired. New spots are always opening. Hiring at Cedar Point is a revolving process throughout the entire season.

Now is definitely not too late.

I applied in april my first year.

They'll hire you whenever, and unless you're a serial killer, you'll get hired.

^even then, I'm sure they won't have an issue with that.

I have yet to sit back and wait for a call. Last year, my first year, I didn't receive a call for a quite a while after I submitted the application so I ended up calling and setting up an interview that way.

No.

they're not just hiring anyone anymore. They're doing background checks now. They're cracking down on who they hire so less people quit and less people are fired. But still, it's inevitable.

I just applied last night and was wondering the same thing too, if it was too late.
I'm hopeful though! We'll see what happens.

^ That's true. Ripcord got 6 or 7 new people in late August/early September. Other places hired people throughout Halloweekends, and not just as Screamsters.

I applied feb 12, 2009 and I was so ready to recieve a call so instead of waiting I reached about 15 days then called 1800668jobs between 8a.m. and 5 p.m. and the lady who answered the phone told me that they had already pulled my application for review and forwarded me to the manager which I had an interview and was hired on the spot. So call them if you want that interview it helps.
