I have been a very regular reader for a long time, posting is more recent to me. I also do not post as often as many people do.
i come here every day and read....rarely post anymore, as its been 3 years since my last trip.
(hoping to make it back in '07, but we'll see)
i came here after the MF announcement and have been here ever since...even met a few peeps from here in person....

I'm not afraid to admit I've gotten grumpier but thats just because it is getting harder to find decent discussions on the board right now. Honestly Walt, I disagree. I feel the bad thread ratio has really overgrown the good point ratio, and will continue to be rough until P2007 is old news. I'm addicted to the recent button, so when I see all this crap and the dumb threads, I get sarcastic with Exit. lole
Unless you lurked or had a different screen name, you've only been here for a quarter of the site's lifetime. You missed all the Dragster speculation, the L-TH-B (or whatever it was), which went on even longer because of the January announcement. I seem to recall a web cam at one of Jeff's parties where guests held up signs making fun of it all. This stuff is nothing new, it just seems worse.
In second half of 2002, during the height of the Dragster talk, there were around 3,500 members here. It's now going on 10,000. It's been three years since the last major construction, and this is the first prolonged speculation period for most people. Any time you nearly triple your membership, it makes sense that everything that goes along with it gets tripled as well.
I first found this site sometime in the fall of 2002 during the Dragster talk, and didn't get too involved until almost opening day of 03. Since then I've contributed almost 2500 worthless posts. Go me.
I'm guilty of being noisy and a jackass, however, I am the same in real life (Although some would beg to differ)
I have to admit, 10,000 users and a site this gigantic about an amusement park amaze me. If you had told me a decade ago that would happen, I would have called you nuts.
I've been around for a long time, but obviously didn't post that much in the beginning since my post count is so low. LOL!! But, for the most part, there are a lot of cool people on here. It'd be fun to meet a couple of you eventually. It's nice to have "fanboys" to chat with since most of my friends aren't fanatics like I am and think I'm weird for looking at pictures of dirt and concrete. Then again, that's what I do for a living too. LOL!!
I would be sarcasticly rude along with some people on here, but I figure why add to it, I'll just let exit, dj, Fastball, and Jugga do it; and if none of them mention something like the sarcastic remark I had in my head, then I'll post it. :)
I remember when I first showed up I got my fair share of backlash as I was just a nOOb and not to be trusted. I'm assuming that has changed though. ;) I also remember when dj first came here, and I thought "Great, the most arrogant person of all arrogant people." That opinion has changed, obviously.
Gomez, on the other hand, seems to be heading back to nOObdom with his spelling and grammar as of late. ;)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I've been coming to this site for about 2-3 years now, once I found out about Cedar Point and wanted to go there. I came a few times to read some of the articles and features to read up about the park and get to know the rides and such.
Now, it's 2006 and I still haven't been to Cedar Point, but I've been reading the forums every day ever since the Skyhawk speculation (stupid me thought it was a coaster. ;) ) I never bothered posting then because I had never been to Cedar Point, but Project '07 really drew me in, especially with the frequent updates, but lately, even me, someone who would be considered a n00b, is getting sick of hearing the same things repeated over and over again, making it very hard to post whatsoever for fear of being attacked because I'm "not open to ideas" when the concepts that they propose are so far fetched that it just wouldn't work (example, people posting saying it's going to be dueling 500 foot B&M flyers). It's just something that's going to happen though, and when actual discussion is posted, it takes a good 4 days for people to realize what they're asking has already been answered, but they just don't want to read through other topics before posting.
Well, at least once Project '07 is announced, things should calm down some (hopefully).
Also, a thank you to all of those who have posted constructive things and started or continued meaningful discussions, due to this, my first trip to Cedar Point in September will now be much better now that I know some of the scientific things behind the rides and the general style of the park.
Ride Count at Dorney Park so far this year:
Hydra: 14 Laser: 3 Steel Force: 11 Talon: 18 Thunderhawk: 4
And that's just in 23 hours!

Ah, yes. Those signs were funny. I was one of the people holding one of them. I wish I could find those pictures, I looked A LOT different back then. :-\
Ive been on this sight almost everyday and chose to post only if i had an absolute need to. In my own opinion i like to sit back and watch it all unfold. Most likely none of you know me and have no idea I even existed! haha
"Milk was a bad choice..."
Ah the party webcam... Wasn't that over on Jeff's other site? I also remember videos of some of Jeff's early journalism work. One seems to come to mind of him on a pirate ship ride at a local fair, and seeming to be surprised at the height of the swings...
To put in perspective how long I have been here. I remember surfing the site and forums while sitting in my high school computer applications course... and now Im 2 years beyond my college Bachelor's Degree, and I'm sitting at work surfing the site... yikes...
By the way, my old screen name was CoastFreak... I wish I could still login to that name, but I think it got lost in the switchover to PointBuzz or something...

Speaking as a newbie who has posted a LOT, I have to say that most everybody have been very nice to me, for which I'm grateful.

101 on Magnum and counting...
Yeah, some idiot in a suit just randomly came up to me and took my picture. All I got to say is that it better not show up on the web.
