Anyone notice that Magnum got stuck on the first hill about 3 times yesterday? Not like it stopped it from working again later that day (I rode it about 4x) but still. Everything was breaking down it seemed like. Iron Dragon got stuck on its lift hill too.

LOL, I was wondering that myself Ben.
Yeah, Tank was one of our members who had to walk down it. Somebody said that it was stuck two different occasions, and Tank was on both of those trains, lol.

There were soo many rides that experienced downtime yesterday. Just a few off the top of my head that I saw were Mantis, Millennium, maXair, and of course the Dragster. But it was like the dragster ride host told a bunch of people yesterday. "If you sat around doing nothing for 6 months and then someone asked you to do a 12 hour day, you wouldn't want to either". I thought that was kinda funny.

Maybe the park wasn't really ready to open yet.
No, it ran for about 15 minutes and then they closed it for almost 2 hours.
I agree on the randomness there. :)
Magnum had at least two walkdowns that I witnessed (I'd have been on the first one if I didn't stop at the bathroom first. Grrr)
Overall lots of downtime, but I didn't think it was too out of the ordinary for opening day. Anyone remember opening day 03 when Magnum's three trains had so many seats roped off they may as well have been running one full train?
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Heh, well I am trying to not be negative as much. ;) (AS MUCH I SAID!)
I think it was in 2002 when they added the air gates to Magnum and it was down a lot opeing weekend because of the air gates.
Dan
They had two walkdowns on Saturday? I didn't know that. The first one was quite sufficient for me! I know the one I participated in took quite a long time as we came down in groups, and we were very close to the top of the lift hill when it happened.
Apparently, our hero Jerry, the Magnum "Candy" Man has some primo video of yours truly "conquering" the Magnum XL-200 the hard way. I would like to get a hold of that.
Of course, the only thing better than a Magnum walk-down, is a Magnum walk-down followed by a 3:00am fire alarm at the Breakers Express, which empties the entire hotel into the parking lot!
They already have Murder Mystery weekend, now they have a new theme: Escape-drill weekend.

Ok, maybe its not so random anymore?? Two posts in two days? But seriously, over the past few years Magnum has NOT been ready for opening day. Whether it be the problems it had this past Saturday, or it being half the trains taped off, there's usually some sort of issue anymore with Maggie. And that is disappointing.

Dan, you weren't there, but I was! :)
Unfortunately, I missed theat walkdown. We were just walking back from Skyhawk. We left Maggie after the first downtime.
First trainf of season, the train took about a half hour to get over the top!
Right off the back I noticed the lift felt wrong. As soon as I said it to Aaron, it started to slow down. it slowed so much that you could count the anti-rollbacks clicking! You could have walked faster. Finally about half way up it stopped. We sat there for awhile before starting again slowly. We inched up another 10 ft or so before stopping again. Sat a bit longer. Started again and made it close to top. Stopped. Sat a bit longer again. Started again an made the crest and stopped a final time.
Stopped on the crest! What a beautiful view! Even in ejector seat. Tank was in front. So he had the perfect view!
We only sat there for a couple of minutes before creeping over.
That was the best Magnum ride ever!
Tank - just give me your email and I can get the videes and pic sent to you. There is a short clip of you on the lift and the one at the bottom.
BTW everyone - CP is not giving out "ride again" passes to those who get stuck on rides this year. That really bites the big one for the average guest that is inconvenienced this way!
