Items sitting outside Dragster's station?

There was a tire that fell off the ride as it decended the drop side of the ride. The reason the wheel broke off was wind resistance against us. Unfortunately, they had used real racing tires to fill out the theme.

The reason they removed the engine and spoiler was so they could insert another row of people, and have more people circulate through the ride.

Now, I noticed during the season that there was a black metal piece on the back end of the train. I had mentioned to Monty Jasper (I had the good fortune of talking to him at Dragster) that maybe they could attach the fin to that black piece of metal. He said he would look into it.

Honestly, It doesn't need the engine or the tires, just the fin would finish off the car. I mean, the engine on the train serves no purpose anyway, and it really isn't the driving force behind the train, so it wouldn't seem right to have it on there wasting seating space.

I liked the tires but... I can live. I really think the spoiler should be re-attached, because, it looks nothing like a dragster. It looks like a roller coaster with a nose. And the "black box" is dumb.

Hate to sound like a little kid but here I go. I want everything the way it was!! Those trains were the coolest things ever. Adding only the spoiler and tires will only make me remember more about how it looked before. But I'm not a kid and it's up to CP to make a choice. We'll see what happens on May 8. :)

Two important points to make:
1) The "black box," as it's been called, is not dumb, it is crucial, because it is the rear bumper of the train. I pitty the ride op doing transfers/manuals in the rain without that rear bumper.
2) In reading topics that deal with train themeing, I can't help but see proof of why we were instructed to just not say anything. There are a lot of partial truths on this site about the train themeing. But there is no post on this site that accurately identifies the root cause for the removal of the train themeing. By no means do I intend for this statement to incinuate that anybody is intentionally lieing, because I can see the portion of truth in every statement that's been made. I don't doubt that people are presenting information based off of true statements that they heard that they chose to logically extrapolate upon, or that they are precisely presenting what they heard from somebody that they choose to believe that made logical extrapolations on a piece of truth that they heard. However, just because it is a logical conclusion based off of a piece of truthful information, does not make it a correct statement.

By all means, continue to discuss the reason behind the removal of the themeing and its potential return, but please do so with the realization that somebody will read these statements and take them to be the gospel truth. When in fact everything that has been presented so far is just extrapolation of partial truths.

I look forward to reading the discussion to find out if anybody lands on the true root cause, and not the symptom.

Pat, that's exactly what needed to be said. I love it. I also love your signature - who will be in the manual? Hahaha!

I'm just curious as to where you got all of this information from. Because, frankly, the majority of your post is filled with inaccuracies. I don't think it's wise to be creating truths out of what bits and pieces of information you've read or been told.

As per Patr.... The damned Mechanical engineer... request.

A disgruntled TTD ride host with superpowers, which I'll call Kathy to protect the innocent. Kathy had a rough day at work turned to rage by a certain someones random singing. She then decided she had enough and was going to leave a permanent marking. She fired her first shot of psychological evil and missed the train, however she hit a guest. He was cursed and instantly grew a permanent mullet... The amount of hatred in giving someone a mullet... it's not ment for mortal eyes. The second shot was even worse... She somehow hit a fish in the water propeling it up into space which wasn't seen until June16th. That was interesting indeed. She finally hit the train, but instead of hitting the train near the middle and cauing it to explode mid-launch, she hit the tire which fell off later in the ride. She consitered that good enough and left a note stating in blood: "If you try to operate Top Thrill Dragster, I will repeat what I have done." Cedar Point decided that the train was a hard enough object to hit that they could continue running as long as they removed the oversized theming because it was determined as an easy target for Kathy.

Well, we've been over this before, but yes, the tire really did fall off toward the end of May. How do I know this you may ask? I was on the train ahead of the one that lost the tire. I saw it come into the station with only one tire in tact. I saw the tire that fell off laying under the Iron Dragon track that runs next to the "Winner's Circle," and I saw the dozen or so maintence guys show up about 3 minutes after the incident occured. That tire did certainly take a good bounce when it fell off, it got some major distance before it landed.

Ralph, I do not contest the tire, but it was only a symptom, and not the root cause. If the park wanted to, they could continuosly install a new axle and pair of tires each night and noone would be the wiser. But the very fact that something has to be constantly repaired, means that you are only treating a symptom. If you treat the root cause, you repair it only once, and it never happens again...unlike the Goodyear tires.

umm.. not they can't.. That space is already used for storage of other things.

Actually.. it's taken up before the park even closes for the season.

The items that are being stored in Disaster Transport are all the Halloween stuff. I looked over the wall one day.

And another thing is it just me or are the dragster's cars sitting in front of the station starting to disappear. Maybe they are going back on the track so the can start testing the ride.

If you haven't noticed on the web cams, they have removed some of the red train today.

"Are We There Yet?" May 8th that is.

There's more than just halloween stuff stored in the Disaster Transport building. A lot more. Most of it has been placed in areas out of view from the public (even if they do climb walls), though.
