Is this the reason for a delay of the announcement

I'm trying to convince my dad to get CP season passes. If these rumors end up being true then I've got to get on that roller coaster !

I kind of forsee the anouncement coming when alot of people might be home to see the CP website. Maybe not during a regular workweek or weekday but maybe more like a long "holiday" weekend. We'll see though I guess.

nope. early to mid-week. they don't care about the website, they want their coaster to be seen by *everyone*, and you have to get it into a highly-visible news cycle. Mon-thurs, preferrably tues or wed. mid morning.

This may be the reason for the delay! Bill Buckley has stated that SD2k was originally slated to be 289' tall until CP announced the height of MF so if CP is planning a 420 footer that a japanese park woul raise the height of another giant coaster if it is barely shorter than CP's new coaster! See the japanese tried to outdo CP! :-(

It's already been stated that such coasters take months, if not years, to design, and to change the statistics of the coaster at very short notice, would be very... umm... bad.

I kind of tend to agree with the delay being to hold off other parks building anything better. If CP did underdo this new coaster, wouldn't it be better to announce it sooner than later, before rumors and hype start getting around?

Yeah, I can picture it. Intamin engineers sitting in front of a computer waiting to hit the enter button until CP annouces the ride. When they hit it, 110 feet of track will immediately be added to a ride that is already being built at a six flags park. During t
