Is Michigan's Adventure worth it?

djDaemon's avatar

They have a mad mouse ride and a corkscrew (which is actually shorter than CP's CS). There may be one that I'm missing (not counting the kiddie-coasters), and there are some water rides - a flume if I'm not mistaken, a SRF-type ride, and of course they have Grand Rapids now.

There is Wolverine Wildcat which is a double out and back woodie.

... and Zach's Zoomer if you are a credit whore. It is a junior woody, basically darn near a junior-sized copy of the Wolverine Wildcat.

Been on all of them. Zach's Zoomer is really much better than most would think for a kiddie coaster.

Agreed! Zach's Zoomer is sometimes better than Wolverine Wildcat, depending on WWC's temperment for the day. In fact, Zach's Zoomer is so good, we named our 1-year-old after it! Well, not really, but his name is Zach! I can't wait until he's old enough to ride it!

Is Dog 'n Suds the name of the place? Or are you refering to it as the last place you can drive-in and get a Hot Dog and Root Beer.

A&W in Ortonville is still around it if it's the latter.

No, the last Dog 'n Suds.

Montegue is just across the river from Whitehall. *** Edited 6/8/2006 5:04:01 PM UTC by CoasterBud***

As far as coasters, if you are a credit whore you cant forget the Big Dipper... That was a painful ride...

And a trip to MIA is not complete with a spin on the Drummer Boy...

I'll be there this Sunday power riding ST

You do know that Michigan's Adventure is 200 miles from Detroit, right? I think it's worth the trip, but I'd plan a day or two on the lake shore. There's some great beaches up there.

Geauga Lake is actually closer to Detroit. Of course, you'd need the GL add-on to use yor pass there, but it's really a better park.

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them"

Also, catch a ride on Frog Hopper, which adults are allowed to ride, unlike the one at Cedar Point. :)

Hey, the way you Michigan idiots drive, I'm sure it's only three hours from Detroit to MiA. ;) And that's about the same time it would take to get from Detroit to Geauga Lake.

LOL! What's the matter with the way we drive? At least our speed limit is 70, instead of 65...

Amen MrScott. I love crossing the Michigan border on the way home from CP and flying the rest of the way home. ;)

Come on guys give the people from Ohio a break, they can only handle going 65. ;)

haha 3 hours from detroit? Maybe a western suburb. It's over 2 hours to Michigan's Adventure from the west side of Lansing! (Betsy begs to differ, but traffic laws apparently don't apply to her ;))

Dogs N Suds is an awesome place to eat, although I doubt I'll be making a trip there this summer. White Lake is one of my favorite lakes to fish, the best boat launch being right next to Dogs N Suds.

Sometimes I wish I lived on the West Coast of MI. :)

It takes me 3 hours to get home (West Michigan) from the state line (and that's traveling on 23, which is usually tore up).

I live in good ol' South Bend, IN and it takes me around 2 hours or so to get to MIA... its about 130 miles... Other than Dog N Suds, there is a great pizza place right in Muskegon on the water... but I can't remember the name of it... I'm sure someone can help me here...

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

Fricano's? Some Place Else? Scrib's? Village Inn?

There are many good pizza places in Muskegon.

Now I'm getting hungry.

Amen to that Nachos!

I live around the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti area (not too far from Detroit for you Ohioians) and it takes us around 3 hours, sometimes a little less. It is easy, I-94W to US-127N to I-96W to 31N. We are still closer to CP by 1 hour though.

Yeah I didn't say it was bad, it is okay, but not too re-ridable since the train cars are so small.

I'm not a big time waterpark fan so I can't say much there, but the park side is very nice. The park side is very tiny compared to a park like CP, but like many others have said, Shivering Timbers will blow you away. It's like Magnum but made out of wood.
