Is maxair working

Been watching the Point Buzz cam,doesnt look like maxair is runnning, does it have mechanical problems, i know the end of last year it kept blowing fuses.

It was operating when I walked by this afternoon.

It was down mechanical in the afternoon. No idea why.

I can say that after being stuck on it as it slowly rocked back and forth for 25 minutes, that it might have been something with the breaks. We waited almost an hour for the 6 cycles before us, it had taking a long time for the ride to be stopped, but it seemed to be getting better, with the ride cycle before us only taking 3 minutes.

Then we went, and we came to a stop at the end, then started rocking, then increased in momentum, until we had a nice 10-15 arc going, and it kept going. We were on the ride for almost 35 minutes before they finally got off, and the best part...... we got nothing for our time stuck there :(

Phathorse I agree we were on it for about 35 minutes as well. Just rocking back and forth. Had to love it.

My wife and I actually timed it, because we kept track of some of them and how long they were swinging, so we had noted when we got on and when we got off.

Man, I felt like taking a nap on there for awhile, and was really hoping they'd just send us off for another spin. At least my seat (8) was in the sun so I was kinda warm.

Wow... sounds like a mess. I assume it was not rotating for 25 minutes? I wonder if they had tested it yet with a full capacity. Perhaps the problem was there this past week, but the weight of a full ride made the ride swing longer?

No rotating, just rocking.

Was great to get on it again though, always fun.

Yeah, it was rediculous. I felt like one of those sims on RCT - "I want to get off of maXair 1". But seriously, they could at least have apologized for the inconvenience. Sitting there for about 10 minutes it seemed after the ride was over was overkill. You do start to get sick to your stomach after a while. Gotta fix that.

Yep, it was down all day after that.

When I walked by Skyhawk this evening on my way to MF at around 9:30, and they were doing the same thing. It was only the south arm, the other had stopped but the one kept on rocking back and forth. Don't know how long it lasted since I didn't stick around; they could still be there rocking right now, lol. Anyone ride Skyhawk after about 9:30?

I found it kind of funny that both swinging rides were doing this today. MaxAir ops told me that he had never experienced this before being with the ride since last July.

:-\ Yes, they just don't give her enough of them, breaks that is. I totally agree! No, really...good observation.

So both maXair and Skyhawk were having braking issues?

'blowing fuses' is an understatement.

I saw maXair do this last year in June. No one was on it at that time though.

I noticed that too. We had just arrived at the park, and when we got out of the car, my sister and I noticed that maXair was just swinging back and forth, and not very high, either. It wouldn't stop! I really wanted to ride it, but I got on Skyhawk instead. I was a little dissappointed that I waited an hour for a really short ride, but it was good.

Has anyone happened to see if maXair is back up today?

I haven't seen it operating on funcoast cam. Skyhawk looks as if its going to be down all day too. A little bumpy start to the season for Cedar Point.

I heard that maXair was hitting the platform too. I asked the dude yesterday and he said that it suffered a computer malfunction. I saw it testing from our room this morning but it didn't open. Skyhawk was down all day too.
