Is it hard to get off days?

I know I have 2 days in June that I need off for a wedding and my graduation party...and i know that in july i need a day off for the bridal shower, another wedding, rehearsal, and so on..is this gonna be hard?

The dates in July will give you the most trouble.. If you didn't request them off when you filled your application, it's gonna be even harder to get them off.

It also depends on your supervisor and the staff level of your department, but July is hard for everyone.

From my experience, the best thing to do is take a Sunday and Monday off (if you can). You get two days off in a row, but that means you do go longer on both sides of that without a day off.

Call your manager now and ask. It will be easier to get those days off now then if you wait til you start working.

Be honest with management and with your supervision. the more days you need, and the more days in a row you need the harder it is for them to let you have all of them. if that means leaving a wedding reception early without having as much "fun" as you would have otherwise have then that might be an option. otherwise if you need multiple days off in a row, you just have to let them know with plenty advanced warning. that means if you know now let them know now. if not then let them know as soon as you arrive to process in.

I called the person that hired me and he said that I would have no problem getting my three days off during the 4th of July. He said ask about it when I get there in June. Should I get it in writing now before I get there? I work in food service by the way.
How often do you get days off? Do you have to work every day because i was thinking about getting a job at the point. Is it easy to get hired? Thanks

Hey brennan,

The normal work schedule at CP is 6 days a week, varying between 40 - 75 hrs depending on the time of the season and the department. I know of a few people who had other jobs and we (as a Sup I made the schedules) worked with them when we could but I know that it is REALLY hard for most people to do it. Two jobs with one being CP is really tough, and often CP will expect to be your primary job, meaning that your other job will have to work around us (ie if you have to stay later on a busy day or so forth). Hope you figure out what you would like to do. Good luck.

You could always ask your sups. Or your team leader if it is possible to have those certain days off. Or call like I did and ask to get those days off and they will put those on the hiring log!!! Because you let them know so far in advance!!!
