Is eating a big expense?

How much would one expect to pay a week on food? Will that be my biggest expense, or does the park take care of you in some way?

Just a guess here:

If you eat twice a day, 7 days a week and figure $3-$5 average per meal, your looking at $20-$40 bucks a week. Of course this would change if you eat more often or more expensive food. It would also change if you made a lot of sandwiches, Ramon noodles or Mac & Cheese.

It's really up to you and your personal tastes.

That's why I'm going to live in the apartments so I can cook.. I need to find a cheap rice cooker.. yum.

I've worked there 2 years and I think the last year i worked there i spent like $40-$60 a week on food. But that was with roomates who would eat my food without asking too so i dont think you'd spend much more than $40 a week. Unless your into steak and lobster every night.

Dinner at home in the apartment, while a wonderful idea, is often hard to pull off since you'll be coming home late in the evening more often than not. I never had much drive to cook after 10pm. Everyone's guesses on food totals seem about right to me. $50/week on average, in my experience.

yeah 50 is pretty right even though i have spent more and i have spent less depends on your eating habits

just keep to the employee cafe - it's nice and cheap (sorta) - you'll make plenty of money

.90 for a pop is cheap? The cafe was pretty much a rip off.

But, I spent about $40-60 a week on food. More if I decided to order Pizza.

I brought some food home for the dorms that required heating, but the microwave always seemed like a long walk after a long day, and I ended up hardly ever eating anything but prepared food.

The food is pretty much cheap especially in the cafeteria. but we quickly got tired of the cafeteria so i spent alot on domino's and then going to mcdonalds after louie's. but i mostly went to meijer's and bought snacks and kept them in my room. but the cheapest thing in the cafeteria last year was those sandwiches for 25 cents.

I agree, they really bend over the employees (some like it) $.90 for soda that CP gets for free gee thanks guys. Get a job in a restaurant and you will get the BEST food for free plus booze.

You think .90 for a pop is expensive, at school a pop is 1.75. Of course that is in Canadian dollars, since I do live in Canada. 1.75 CAD is about 1.40 AMD. 0.90 AMD is about 1.10 CAD, I would much rather pay 1.10 than 1.75.

There's 2 differences. A) You do not work for your school (I assume) and B) I'm guessing your school does not get the pop for free.

Right, I don't work for my school... and Cedar Point gets their pop free? Is that because Pepsi is associated with them?
