IRS

Hi!

I received a letter from CP with the papers for the IRS and I don't know what to do with them. I know I'm supposed to send them back somewhere but what else ? It seems to be already filled out but are there some more info to put in there ?

One last thing, because i am not American, I think I can get a refund of some of the tax i paid; do you know if there is something special to do for that ?

Thanks for any help you could give.

Try going to your local post office, and picking up a form called 1040-EZ or something similar. You than fill that form out with all the appropiate information, and staple your W-2 to it (the W-2 is the one you got from cedar point).
While we are on the subject of taxes!! My father was doing mine and he thinks there is a way to get the local tax refunded? Any clue?

You should be able to get some off it back, it all depends how much you got taxed, and other things. My recommendation would be getting a form for a local tax refund again from a post office. Fill it out and see if you'd get anything back.
i got a question i got my W -2... does anyone know if there is anything different i have to do.. becasue it all was ohio taxes and if the other forms or anything i would have to fill out when i file my taxes.. i have all my other paper work from other jobs but im waiting to find out about the ones from cp... help??

I am an accounting major and happen to be working for a tax firm this year. The only thing I am doing different is filing an Ohio state return in addition to my normal Illinois state return and federal return. I'll try to help out with any more questions you have.
If you go to www.bunac.org\uk , you can follow links to get to the work america programme. Then, go to tax Info for Participants. You can then download a 1040NR-EZ, for non resident aliens. Fill it out (it's actually not too bad if your' not american, cause you only have to fill out about 1/2 the questions, unless you recieved american student loans etc.) It says it will take longer than it does for this! It's quite easy! Alternatively, go to www.irs.com, but I couldnt find the forms as easily there!
Each state will have its own wibesite as well to load the proper form and look up the rules for your particular situation. Some of them are rather byzantine!
Thanks a lot for all this info.

The web site is a great source of information .I will also call the American embassy just to make sure I am not forgetting anything.

Call the IRS at 800-829-1040, or consult a tax preparer.

I think the way it works out is that you'll get a bunch of money back from Ohio, then have to pay pretty much the same amount to your home state. There are some deals with Ohio's neighboring states which can make things different I think. I got a bunch of money back from the federal government though because CP withheld what seemed like a boatload! Maybe they're looking out for everyone's interests since they know if the employees get it up front, they'll spend it at Louies! :)
