Reality provides a depth of field that 3D glasses, virtual reality goggles, etc currently do not. Even when your mind is tricked into thinking it's looking beyond (or in front of) the screen, your eyes are still focused at the same fixed distance. For some, this effect can be rather unpleasant.
This is usually talking about extended periods of time. This may cause a headache if you're in VR for an hour or more, but we're talking about a 2 minute ride here. I'm sure there are exceptions, but for the vast majority of people it will have no affect on them for the 2 minutes they're wearing it.
I don't think Iron Dragon would be a good candidate (I don't think this is a good idea in general) for VR because the swinging isn't controlled. I've had rides where the swinging is mild, and rides where the swinging is pretty wild...
Mild & wild swinging? YEAH, BABY! YEAH!
Anyway... The ride isn't exactly the same every time so it's gonna be impossible to sync VR to Iron Dragon.

OTSRs are exposed to the suns UV rays and the wind and are not enclosed in a strapped on over the face mini-sauna. Also, I've never seen anyone rubbing there open eye on a restraint, people will be purposefully holding their eyes open in a VR headset as much as possible.
So, yeah, OTSRs, just as bad, if not worse. :)

I see people rub their eyes after getting off of a ride all the time. And I guarantee they don't sanitize their hands after every single ride.
By the way, I'm not sure why some people here think that because ride ops are "overworked" they will overlook the safety and sanitization for all guests. If that was the case, then how do you feel about your life being in a ride operators hands every time they dispatch a ride unit? Not to mention, a large portion of ride operators (and almost everybody in leadership) is 20 and over. Just saying.
Can confirm that they were doing more soft trials today on Iron Dragon, Also seeing it all over twitter that they were testing it on riders today as well. One of the In The Loop podcast hosts (Drew) posted some pictures on his Twitter as well. Have yet to see a review from any of them but Iron Dragon VR can be confirmed to at least be testing.
