Iron Dragon

That sitacky. It just drives me nuts being orange in the middle of freakin woods and being called Iron Dragon. Now it was called lollipop and in the middle of candyland orange would be perfect. But not for Iron Rusted Dragon over the water and in the woods!

I think it would be awesome if they had trains like this. The problem is, Arrow doesn't exist anymore...

I know some other company could make trains like that for ID, but I don't see the point in it.

ID was my first "medium" coaster. I like it the way it is. You kinda feel like you're in a fighter plane in the front.

I was thinking of starting a club for all ID fans. Plans are still in the works for the new organization, maybe name it the Iron Dragons.

All members can wear a varsity jacket with the ID insignia on the back and an 87 on one of the sleeves. The colors won't be those outrageous red and orange, but teal with black sleeves to match the trains.

fury, I would hardly call repainting an entire coaster an insignificant detail. It's too similar in color to a coaster that's near-by, its just, well for lack of a better word, tacky.

Do you have trouble telling them apart, because it's quite simple? Top Thrill Dragster is the goldish yelow tower that is placed in the center of the park. Iron Dragon is the red and orange ride that stays mainly close to the ground. Hope I cleared up the confusion for everyone. I know I went there last season and I couldn't tell the difference. Is it TTD is it ID, the world may never know?

Not being able to tell them apart isn't the problem. The color scheme just looks bad on ID.

Why not repaint blue streak green, or Gemini Red....you could still tell them apart from other coasters nearby right? but it would just look bad.

The faded red and grey did look better.

Actually I think I remember the support columns being a light cream color, not grey, maybe I'm wrong...

The Amazement Park

I also liked the older color scheme better. Back to topic.....If ID did get the new trains you would think they would have to redo the station. It was not originally designed to have a floorless car. I think it is fine the way it is, it fits in well and adds to CP's assortment of coasters and rides.

If you're agreeing with my post, I was being sarcastic. I thought the faded colors looked terible. That's why I think I like the new colors so much. They make the ride look good. I personally don't like the color grey on ID and Magnum. The silver color on MF looks good though.

It's an IRON DRAGON. I always pictured it with faded greys and reds. Now if the name was Iron Pumpkin...

Im a fan of the new colors too. I mean lets face it, the lines for ID were longer this year.

It simply looks more appealing.

The orange and red attracts more attention to it.

Maybe that was the goal of Cedar Point. They felt Iron Dragon's ride attendence wasn't as high as it used to be, and maybe a new paint scheme would bring more attention to it and more people would ride it.

Iron Dragon... I love that ride. I ride it sometimes when I'm in the park and the lines are too long on other coasters.

I believe that the Orange and Red were tacky colors to paint the ID, but hey, it's not my money totally that is covering the bill. My money's covering the employee paychecks (at least I think it is).

I think that ID needs the trees around it that it used to have. I miss going through the forest. I guess TTD got a little too close for comfort and they cut the trees down to make room.

I think that it's fine the way it is, but the grey and red matched the car and signage better. I mean, the Dragon is red, the sign is metal, so I think a metallic grey and red would work. oh wait, that's what they had.

ID was never meant to be a show-boat coaster. ID is a starter coaster for younger generations of Coaster enthusiasts. If you ask me, ID can go back to its original colors and its original hidden self, and it would be back to the great obscure ride it used to be.

I totally agree.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

It's good to have a few secret rides... ID, CCMR, MS if you're back can handle it (thank god I'm 14!). If every ride was packed, CP just wouldn't be the same!

You know i've heard alot of people suggest that iron dragon should be changed.....they already did somewhat with the aweful paint job.

I say make it blue and silver again and leave it alone :)

What are you talking about blue and silver? It'd match MF and it'd look tacky, weird, dumb, call it the blue dragon, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart, it'd ruin the ride, what other bad things are there. :)
