Im working on getting this music now. It will make a great ringtone for my "Maverick" theme on my LG VX8300... Im such a nerd...
Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004
I must admit, though a little late to the discussion, that music is great and puts you right over top of the coaster.
I am a band nerd as well. Percussion! Too bad the trains wont have speakers on them so that the music can be synced with the ride.

Fellow Band Geek/Nerd/Dork here...
*clarinet but I SO should have been the only girl in the drumline but I was too shy back then to step up*
I totally agree with you Smash! - having speakers on the train would be great ;-) but this isn't "Italian Job: Stunt Track" - It'd be sweet though
Impatiently awaiting a find of the theme music in downloadable format *grins*

Cedar Point Lifer, RideOp, Now Park Guest

So if you guys are band guys, are you DCI fans also?
If so, should Cedar Point bring the Troopers out for opening day? Can you imagine?
Cedar Point typically brings in the OSU Spring Band to play at opening day. While it's not DCI, it's a good choice for them because this is Ohio, and most non-band people think that Ohio State's band is the best ever.
Some of the band people (myself included) think that OSU's band is an awesome sight to watch in the 'Shoe, but not all that exciting when they just stand around. Don't get me wrong, they play really well.

Some guy wrote in USA Today almost 20 years ago that Ohio State was the best band in the country. Ohio State fans can't seem to let that go. Ohio State is only TBDBITL!!1one! to Ohio State fans. There are some cool traditions, like a lot of other college bands, but in general there's nothing special about them. Ohio State, though, can rest in the fact their fan base has the biggest collective ego in the land!
Anyway, as was the case with audio for Millennium Force, Dragster, Wicked Twister, etc., that's not something we'll allow you to share here. It's protected by copyright. Sharing audio isn't exactly a new topic of discussion in these parts, so I don't know why anyone would think it'd be any different now.
If someone found the source, like what happened with the old laser show music, that would be OK to post.

Any school that has to throw unnecessary articles before their name has got the biggest ego in the land.
GO LONGHORNS.

For those of you who dont know what the Troopers are, they are a western themed Drum Corps from Wyoming. They actually embrace the "11th Calvary" from Ohio. Not sure how this fits in with their history, but there is a tie in there somewhere. They wear western uniforms, play western music, and would fit in with Maverick's opening day perfect!

I loved the Music as well and yes I am a band nerd myself. I was a Trombone player in the "Greatest Show in High School Football!" LOL

I've never seen DCI perform, but I've seen Blast more times than I can count... does that count? ;)
John-
No, it doesn't. :) Monday, September 11, and Monday, September 18, at 2 PM both days, on ESPN 2. DCI Finals. Record them :)
Speaking of schools who have programs that are elevated only by their fans' egoes, I'd say the "Greatest Show in High School Football" fits in nicely with that idea. George "Red" Bird may have been an innovator in marching band, but I'd say that this may not be what he had in mind. And I hate that stupid tuba Tiger "Growl!"

All I have to say is that the Swing is back in Tigertown! ;) *** Edited 9/8/2006 4:22:19 PM UTC by gotigers1***

DCI is great!! I'm so glad they had the championships on ESPN2 this week. Since I can't go in person anymore, seeing it on TV is the next best thing.
btw, "THE" Ohio State University is no different than saying "THE" Maverick or "THE" Millennium Force. Doesn't someone's sig even say "THE" Top Thrill Dragster? :)
